  2. i have the same problem before. when a friend told me that let them out hungry at 5:30pm, almost dark so that when they fly they wont go far and returns inside the loft for food. i do it for 3 weeks than shift to 3pm for 3 weeks then again shift it to early morning and noon.
  3. give them as much as they want and when they are flying shift them to 1 tablespoon per bird
  4. i have heard about bastin strain pigeons here. and it performed well in the race. i surfed the net, to read some info about the strain but no luck. do you know some infos about bastin pigeons? or a site whera i can read some information about the latter? thanks regards gary

  7. i clean the loft everyday. and each and everytime i go into the loft, i have with me a scraper and scrape the dirt i see.
  8. two heaped tablespoon of feed. 1 in the morning and one in the evening per bird. and also i just observe the birds. if i see 3 or 4 birds goes to the drinker, i take out the feeder.
  9. but this fancier is a friend and he has this whiteboard which he wrote the daily feeding/medication scheds. for sure the flyers dont know how to read.
  10. i had a loft visit with a fancier here and ive seen cans of spirulina powder near his loft. he told me that he use it as a supplemant for his racing pigeons. i dont know if it is bec of this spirulina powder made his pigeons gain good results in the race.

  14. a lot of animals sense if there is a disaster coming. like for example earthquake. dogs howl, snakes from underground goes to trees, chickens become noisy. i dont know about pigeons, maybe if we will be observant about pigeons, maybe we can discover if they really sense if some disaster is coming.

  17. i would like to suggest with our club when race season is off, to have a pigeon show. and i would like to ask your help about the criteria on pigeon judging. if you have some information, it would be appreciated. regards gary

  19. what will be the effect if you feed pigeons just safflower? i have told by a friend that safflower has the complete nutritional value a racing pigeon need. and to balance it, he just add barley as a source of carbohydrates.
