  1. your losses in general including training,exercising and racing.the number does not have to be accurate,just to get an idea of the extent of the problem all fanciers face.
  2. i have often wondered if wild birds migrating to the wrong countrys,whales swimming onto beaches and other mysterious animal misshaps are all conected some way with the massive pigeon losses that fanciers are suffering.

  6. my father used to fly them years ago and he did quite well with them,they used to come good on the middle to long distance races.as i am shortly going to start building a team i wanted to learn a little more about them.

  9. hello.i need all your help once again to decide which club to approach for membership,i am unfamiliar with the new race programme(new to me)for the welsh north road federation.also does anyone know what the current south road race programme is.i am drawing up a short list for clubs to approach for membership and i would like any info on the gwent greater distance club.(pms only on this one please).i know this is a lot of questioning but i am trying to familiarise my self with the pigeon world once again.your help is very much appreciated.paul
  10. we were amazed at the amount of pigeons bearing rings in the town centre at cardiff,they were happily wandering around st mary street with the wild pigeons,and we also noticed how some of them looked,not shabby or ill looking.they looked a picture of good health,some of them had the white shiny looking dust on their feathers.we counted 23 birds wearing rings some had rubber race rings on as well.couldnt get near to them to read numbers on rings.just shows were some of our losses end up.

  12. had all water off the estate in my back garden this morning from overnight heavy rain,glad i put loft up off the floor because it was lapping around stilts,would have finished by now if it wasnt for weather.one step forward two back it would seem.paul

  14. he also told me that dipping the birds eyes into a solution of pot ash would cure eye infections etc.
  15. would these cloves have to be boiled first or simply dropped into the water.
  16. hi.i have had some advice from an ex fancier ,he told me that putting garlic cloves in the birds drinker can help with colds etc.is this true or am i being misled?paul
  17. hi im afew steps ahead of you,my shed has arrived and im in the process of putting it up.being hampered by weather(isnt everyone) getting excited now though.dont forget to take some step by step pics during build for everyone to see,may help other new fanciers in their plight.paul

  19. purchased mine from walton garden sheds,its not a purpose built shed but you can adapt them as you see fit.they are internet based.prices are reasonable too.
  20. i have been overwhelmed by other fanciers offers of young birds to get me started,i have not accepted any of the offers yet because my loft is still not completed,weather is holding things up terrible but you all know about that,i just want to say that i am truly greatful for the help that i have allready received,you know who you are.thanks again paul.
