  1. I'm just a new start and flying yb's this season,I hope. I was told to use breed n wean and maple peas. Bought a bag of Top flight Breed n wean and it's almost all maple,my birds just won't eat them all they are doing is picking the small stuff. My yb's were being pumped full of water. Sadly they had to go as they just wouldn't have cut it. I've now changed the feed for the next lot of yb's so hopefully these will be fine. Any advice on feeding would be gratefully appreciated
  2. A good read Andy It all seems so easy when you read about It,but we all know there's a lot of hard work goes into these achievements. Congratulations to Nigel Lane.
  3. I used to shoot on a farm about 20yr ago,the farmer kept pigeons and budgies and other birds too many to mention,he had pigeons in barns and huts that never got cleaned out,I seen mice by the hundred running over birds nests he never treated for anything as I asked him often what he did about the mice and rats. All he said was he lost some yb's to the rats but the rest were fine, guys used to queue up to buy his birds. Not racers i may add. Is it possible the racing fancy has wasted the natural immunity that the birds had by constantly giving the birds so many different medicines.
  4. Best of luck to all. Hope your race is a great success
  5. I'm just starting in racing,yb's this coming season. If you are use a dropper pigeon that will sit about the loft, won't that encourage the bus to sit about instead of trapping. Or has the dropper been trained to come in at the rattle of a food can.
  6. Where's the best place to buy Para Stop?
  7. Yes it's me Andy Thanks for all your replys,As I said just wasn't sure how I should use them. Thanks again Paul
  8. As I'm just starting up I was going to use Tobacco Stalks as nesting material, not yet as I'm not ready for pairing up. I've read the benefits about it keeping mites and lice from the birds, but as I've bought a box of it in not sure how I should use it,may seem silly, what I mean is it's very long and stiff,I'm wondering how the birds will be able to use it to build a nest. Am I supposed to cut it up or soak it first?. Or have I got a bad box?. I'd love to hear from some of you that use this. Paul
