  1. No good for me, didnt think it was as long as that to Newark, just got my distances off the seccy and its 16 mile further. Did you have a good one yesterday? What do you think of the message on the lib line, 'Liberated group 1, stopped liberating due to sun going behind a cloud'. Is he having a laugh??
  2. This week like last for the K-Factor (27th Aug), between 1 and 2 all day, so shouldnt have caused any problems with racing. There was a wee blip on Thursday sort of late morning into early afternoon. The K hit 5, personally (I didnt know this until I've just looked for the K factor) I had a toss at that time, and they took a fair while longer than usual. It makes you wonder?!
  3. Done it again, it should be 10:45 not 11:45 :X
  4. Any idea how far Newark is? I know we've raced from there once before, but I havent got any distances for the racepoint. I'm begining to wonder if they take us anywhere and just say its the same distance..lol
  5. Up North Combine up at 9:05 continuing at 20 min intervals until 11:45 at Newark. It was Mansfield, then they changed the name to Worksop of this years programme, we've been liberated at Newark; but still using the Mansfield distances, whats going on!!?
  6. Conflicting reports; late last night on news24 they were reporting that the risk from migrating birds is minimal, seriously not allot. Most of the birds 'go the other way'. However they did seem to think that it is inevitible (my spelling is shocking I know ) that the flu will spread the world over, its just a matter of time.
  7. NEHU 2005 NEC 2053 at Ingleby Arncliffe
  8. Sorry I've been away the last few days, I think the topic has moved on a wee bit now, but thanks for all the info you've dug up. One thing I can help you with is; the smilies; if you click 'More Post Options' or the 'Reply' button on the end of a topic, it will bring you to a page with the smilies, and other stuff too
  9. The lib site at Woking is at the 'Burnt Common Auction Rooms', dont know where that is, but hope it helps
  10. Up North Combine at Mansfield/Worksop and no doubt various others round there
  11. Sometime over the off season I remember seeing a report of Avain Flu being found in a flock of pigeons in Thailand. I think they were feral birds. Hope it was a false alarm and the above (letter) is true.
  12. Very good bruno, however I can assure you and everyone else that at the amounts posted that it is completely safe, and indeed advantageous in combatting many ailments in pigeons. Each to their own.
  13. The bleach in the water was promoted by the BHW vet David Palmer, in a lot of his articles he mentioned it. What do you feel about Vircon S in the water?
  14. Just had a look for the K-Factor for today (20th Aug), between 1 and 2 all day, so shouldnt have caused any problems with racing.
  15. Hyacinth if you sent a pair or two over to a fancier in the UK, then they can breed out of them the birds for the various one loft races. This way your only paying quarenteen, etc. once.
  16. UNC at Pontefract, Selby and Mansfield are away. Too many liberation times to remember but Section 6 up at 1:45
  17. What do you think about them holding them due to cloud cover?
  18. Have you got a liberation yet? UNC still holding.
  19. Sorry my mistake, I also meant June not July, must have had a brain fade :
  20. What flight are your ybs on at the moment? Please state if they are darkness or natural ybs, and when you took them off the dark if you did Mine are either on their first, or pushing their second, and were taken off the dark about 18th July.
  21. Looking at the BBC weather forecast theres no chance of a liberation anywhere on Saturday, but look on the Weather channel website and it looks pretty good for the UNC at Mansfield, not sure about the rest. What do people think of the BBC forecasts now? Personally their great for the current day, and the next day (for where cloud and rain is at), but beyond that they seem to be pretty poor. We used to get the pressure chart, and much more detailed wind, etc now I have to check the websites.
  22. Its a Tyne & Derwent Federation bird, the ring is listed as 'unsold at 12/1/05'.
  23. Bang on bruno with (2). Generally no matter how many you breed, you have the same number left at the end of the year as any other year. Think I'm right in saying (Re: 3) that we are getting into a time of increased solar activity. I'll see if I can find the K index for race days and post them up on the forum, see how they fair.
  24. We held until Monday for a race, and seemed to have had a cracker; especially after many birds in their first race having a holdover. I was really pleased with the condition of the birds when they got home, didnt have any dehydrated and they even clapped up round the loft for 10 mins within 30mins of getting home.
  25. Will let you know tomorrow, ours ended up heldover! Lots of first timers in a holdover, hope its going to be better than I'm begining to think! Wonder why they heldover, maybe they didnt like the look of the north wind..haha
