Omg thats shocking; deffo where some are going. i kinda thought that raised in a loft food on a platter and all that stuff they would not survive in the wild, but there must be loads that are also living the life of a Feral. Ones that make it back to the loft months and sometimes years later must also be doing the same.
Back in April i homed two racing pigeons 1 homed no bother and the other 1 never came back.So after a few days you thinks its been hawked.Today i was picking up my grandaughter from school and right next to the School theres a few feral pigeons sitting on the house where the owner just loves feeding the birds.I always have a close inspection to see if they have any rings.Lo and behold theres my racing pigeon living the life of down and out in Beverly hills 5 mins walk from its loft. The yellow clip ring that i put on both of them and the racing ring on the other leg.The most annoying thing is this: the one that did home is its brother, and thats the doo that made it back on Saturday from Otterburn. Wheres Ace Ventura when i need one.
Thanks Andy, Thanks Ali, so chuffed cant believe it,such a hard race for us,which makes it so much better when this happens.Im looking forward to next year and hopefully be better prepared with my yearlings. Maybe get another 1 or 3 tomorrow.
Thanks very much Andy & Seona for letting me see your lofts and your doos,Even thou i was chasing my tale. I Also made it back in time and got some doos away. The pure Whites look Awesome. Thanks again. Brian.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morningWe will remember them.
