  8. I have a nice small team,a couple of early ones working themselves but the feed time will sort them,most just getting up in the air and finding their wings.Wish they were all up then I can relax a bit.

  11. So true that Ryan,a reduction in water intake will increase the down fall.This season I have decided that the birds only get fresh water anything the require will be put on their food. Here a clip from an article I've been reading. "The green, dry "folds" in the center of the garlic clove are especially pungent. The sulfur compound allicin, produced by crushing or chewing fresh garlic, produces other sulfur compounds: ajoene, allyl polysulfides, and vinyldithiins.[1] Aged garlic lacks allicin, but may have some activity due to the presence of S-allylcysteine. In a rat study allicin was found to be an activator of TRPA1. The neurons released neurotransmitters in the spinal cord to generate pain signals and released neuropeptides at the site of sensory nerve activation, resulting in vasodilation, as well as inflammation.[95] Allicin is released only by crushing or chewing raw garlic and cannot be formed from cooked garlic."

  15. So what your are basically saying Peter smelling it does you good ? I was lead to believe it was the sulphur make up of garlic and I think I'll stick with that.

  17. Training has been organised by the Amal for Friday, Saturday and Sunday leaving Maryport at 09 am, picking up on route at Flimby, Workington vic. and Salterbeck legion. Don't ask me where they are going ??
  18. Racing starts too soon mate,the seasons have altered over the years,put the FULL program back two/three or more weeks,race the young birds while the old birds are over the water,something must be done to stop untrained birds being entered in the early races.

  20. Been reading on another site that the UNC has put racing back for 1 week because of the bad weather. Good luck lads and lasses I think we'll need it.

I don't think there are any rights or wrongs in pigeon racing,whatever works for one might not for another,however I did read some time ago that allicin is lost as soon as it contacts the atmosphere,when I was a regular user of garlic I had a gallon measure and the garlic was crushed under the water.Am I right,I'll leave that for you to decide. Lindsay That's one of the reasons I stopped using CLO and started to use Scotts Emulsion,then again we don't get hot weather like we used to.
