  8. usually get their evening feed about 6:30pm i guess they might be out until then still no sign
  9. will they not be picking bad habits up thinking its ok to go off and land on roofs and hide etc instead of coming back to the loft?
  10. will stick to evenings in future, 1 more has came back, the other 4 are not in sight at the min, i will just leave the trap open for now! do they eventually stay local to the loft? i see other fanciers birds just flying around their lofts, mine did this for a few days!
  11. so would you stick to late evenings for now?
  12. been letting my young birds out daily, they are just getting confident now, the last couple of days then have been disapeering for about 20 min then coming back, this morning they went up and shot off towards the allotments where other pigeon men have their lofts (about 400 yards away) not seen them since! they been gone since 6:30am!! cant see any one else pigeons flying no more now, so im wondering if they have got mixed up and went in some ones loft down at the allotments! any idea whats gone wrong??

    Pooling?

just wondering what pooling is and how it works, ive gathered that its like betting on 1 of your own birds? but how does it work? who wins what?
  18. wasnt mega widny, and hardly any wires so i let them out, unbelievably its the best they have flew to date!
  19. been getting in to a routine flying my young birds, they are getting pretty good now, but tonight its quite windy.. just wondering if they should be kept in or let out?
  20. Where are you at?
  21. they are doing quite well now, but at the min they are loving landing on roofs and pecking around! do i leave them for now, or try and get them off?
  22. cheers for the info, it seems im probably feeding them to much, just read its approx a table spoon per bird? they were definatley the most confident they have been today though so i guess thats a plus!
  23. they are not flying yet, they tend to just come out and sit on the aviary and loft roof, today they had a bit of a fly and landed on random house roofs, they seem to follow each other, 1 goes the rest will etc. but like i say they not up and flying as such just yet. today was about their 4th or 5th time out.
  24. just wondering what your training methods are? im new to the sport and cant find much info anywhere about training young birds, i thought i was doing quite well, but today what an absolute nightmare it was to call them in, so im now thinking i need to work on my feeding and calling... what are you methods, where do you start and how do you get them to the point that they are racing from miles away? any specific DVDs or youtube vids that would help guild me in the right direction as well?
