Hi Walter, Don't really like getting involved on here about Fed stuff and probably shouldn't but feel I have to correct you a wee bit, wheels were already in motion to arrange collection of your birds before your first post, I had been phoning round secretaries this evening to confirm times and arrangements for the Ripon race, when I didn't get through to Andy, I gave George D a call, he told me about your situation so I spoke to our Fed President and he asked me to arrange the hire of a van and a driver to collect your birds, I did consider picking them up myself but on reflection, that would mean having to take time off work which I cant really afford to do, so the plan now is that G Duncan has kindly agreed to collect and the Fed will pay him instead of hiring a van, he will then deliver your crate to Aberdeen or to Gogs who again has kindly offered to take them through with theirs. Hi everyone, Just an update on the breeder / buyer. I received no corrections to the list of ring numbers that I sent out so everything appears to be fine. Please remind everyone about the need for the person racing the bird to transfer it for it to qualify for "buyer" prize money. Late Bred Sale. The Breeder / Buyer prize money will be handed out at the Late Bred sale (Sunday 10 September at Inverurie Loco Works). That is only 8 weeks away so I would really appreciate it if you could have a think about donating a bird for the sale. We have already had some really generous donations of youngsters that were sold for Fed funds. However, rather than the Fed relying on the generosity of the "always giving" I would like to appeal to a wider audience to take this opportunity to put a bird into the sale and to turn up on the day and have a bid. After all the Fed is there for all of us and we all share the responsibility to keep it running. Thanks for your support Rick Richards

Would like to take this opportunity to thank Andy Higgins, FDFC, for a very generous gesture. Got a phone call from Andy the other night who said, as he is racing natural this season he has ybs leaving the nest, six now and another six in a weeks time, and would we like them for Fed funds, needless to say his hand was bitten off before he could finish the sentence, they are bred off good doos which have won club and fed tickets for him. The only request Andy had was that the purchaser would collect or arrange the collection of the ybs via our transporter. I sent out a group e-mail last night to say they will be sold in two batches, any member wishing more info, please contact the fed secy.

This weekend coming is our Yearling race from Worksop so for any Fed members interested, there will be a yearling Nom where you can enter up to five yearlings at a £1 each, payout will be 50% to winner and 25% to West sect winner and 25% to East sect winner, ring numbers sent to Sandy via Davie on basketing night, money to Fed secy please. Congratulations to Ronnie Wilson, Keith club, for winning the nom bird from Consett last week, nice little lift, also second prize Stuart Maskame and 3rd prize Gordon Findlay, cheques are in the post lads.

Update on Gold Ring Competition. Total of 230 birds entered Payouts...£500 for the winner, £100 for each section winner, £50 for 2nd place in each section, £25 for 3rd place in each section Well done folks...Best of luck to those competing.

For an added bit of interest, for what is a very short season, Sandy is looking to run a 2 bird nom competition for North of Scotland members, 5 OB races starting at Consett then Ripon, Worksop, Ripon and Peterborough, to keep it simple, a one off entry fee of £20 (a percentage of which will go to fed funds) then nominate 2 birds at your club on basketing night, pay out for 1st 2nd and 3rd nom birds home, how much will of course depend on how many enter. Sandy is up for organising and compiling the result, any queries or suggestions you can contact him on 07777 633640
