  10. too right m8 well done to you i did not get one on the night but got two early morning and five from five and was delighted with that another five for the gold cup next year
  11. i agree steve the percies chase the good ones to then its survival mode and any road will do
  12. would have to check my book but im sure a good three or four weeks
  13. well i learned something again this year the ones that can do it dont need an 8 hour race to set them up jamie boy only had three races up to 180 miles then flagged morning and night no training i was to scared to send him the wee hen did have 8 hours because she made a hash of the 180 mile race she went awol in the gold cup and the cock scored well in so im happy with that could he have done better if id trained him harder i dont know was just happy to get him so im still learning as they say everyday is a school day
  14. yes deff need a bit of luck to steven its hard just to get them there never mind win pal that is why i have the greatest respect for the guys that can get them year in year out
  15. lol i wish john would not show you a birds nest he was old school tell them nothing and there is still to many like him im afraid it was all trial and error for me dont get me wrong got the odd tip here and there but 99 percent the school of hard knocks we could all do more to help guys get to the top table much more harmony when the prizes go around a bit at club level anyway ive had great fun helping jim win a few prizes this year and made great friends in jim and his good lady netty and there daughters and thats what its all about who wants to be the guy that wins everything and is hated by all jim and i can now share in each others sucesses and failures and give one another a leg up and say right lets try this or that i even told him how to win against guys like me and he did it and won and there is no one more pleased than me he is always raring to go and that keeps the fire in my belly to so it works both ways and he has always got something new to ask me about and i enjoy passing on to him what the years have taught me and we have plenty laughs both with each other and at each other and so do the wifes they could both tell you a few stories of the things we have done or tried to do lol
  16. yes 100 percent ok now pal thanks so no excuses next year for her to be honest i always fancied her more than the cock but he proved me wrong and has won at 500 miles in three different winds and won the section to waited a long time to have two birds as good as these two now its all about getting them to the race think im going to lose a lot of sleep before gold cup time lol but its what we all strive for a lot of luck needed to but would not have it any other way had so many years of not even getting a timer and feeling gutted its great to have a shot at having birds you have confidence in and if i do my bit and they get a wee bit luck they will do it and the great thing for me is ive a loft full bred from them and around them all this years youngbirds and yearling latebreds to many get a good bird turning up and when it goes down they are left with nothing to build on been there but old age has wised me up and i bred from them both in the winter to keep the blood of both of course its no garntee but ill take my chances knowing the 500 bloodlines are there on both sides
  17. thanks pal
  18. did not really want to get involved with this because i was not 100 percent sure but for the benifit of all ive just spoke to the man that made the proposal at the snfc agm 3 or 4 years ago he told me the 2500 miles was for the north section guys flying 600 and more miles winning a section prize so there birds can get a gold award in four crossings which i think is fair but for the rest the rule is must be a one in ten prize winner in its section open prizes do not count so big dell is bang on hope this helps people to understand the bird must be a section prize winner so theres a mistake somewhere but we have all made them so greegsy is correct
  19. tommy bhoys had the best of these birds and did some winning in lanarkshire fed with them
