your right del i have found the ones being sick have thrush or fungal infection in the crop and birds will gorge on grit or some plants to make themselves sick to try and get rid of it
-
rab if pigeons got moition sickness we would all have to wear crash helmets m8 and il bet your daughter and dog felt ill affter being sick no ones at there best after just being sick fanciers are accepting this as a natural thing and im just saying its a sign somethings going on inside the pigeon there horrified if they see there youngbirds being sick but turn a blind eye when its there old birds and im telling them there old birds get the same thing as there youngbirds adendnovirus so if your birds are being sick you should be worried and they must be very very clever men that can watch a bird being sick and know its only car sickness i cant tell can you
-
correct hotrod and its the same with the old birds only people are not seeing it and if a pigeon eats something that makes it sick its doing it for a reason its trying to rid its self of something and no matter how you paint it its not normal for human mamal or bird to be sick and not ill imo
-
guys at the end of the day any bird that is sick in the basket is a problem because we dont know what its carrying and other birds are eating it and i know for a fact its one of the first signs of adenovirus in old birds and i dont want my birds in beside them if people are happy with birds being sick in beside there birds thats up to them but i can garntee that your birds will be doing the same thing in a week or two then you will start losing pigeons if the fed would allow us to put our birds in our own basket that would help but thats not going to happen and in 50 years of keeping pigeons i have neaver had a bird that was vomiting and was not ill in days no matter if it was stuffed with feed or run up and down the motorway for hours if there sick there sick imo

you would need a very strong president and a basket convener that can fight like f k m8 then you will still get the old pals act oh its ma m8 wullies its just car sickness
-
i think its more there head is full of mince and tatties they just dont see a problem stairing them in the face lol they convince themselves its something else thats making them throw up they cant be sick then wonder why there losing them and flying like a coo but im saying no more just wait two or three weeks as it spreads and watch the losses and the silence when you go into the club hut with three or four hundred pigeons in baskets and hardly any fighting or crowing birds hunched up in corners of the baskets it has been happening between the 4th and 6th race the past few years if im right it will start earlier this year after seeing and hearing about birds being sick the week between the first and second race its early this year anyway ive told them
-
to be honest i think its like some of the guys on here they just dont think its a problem they have been sending pigeons like this for years and wondering why there late back or lost when i was a boy of 13 i use to plug school a lot as you can see with my spelling lol id take my pigeons in a cardboard box to coalburn on the bus and spend the day up on the coalburn bing letting them out one at a time they were allways stuffed with feeding as i fed far to much and not once can i remember any food in the box about a 18 mile journey up and down the country roads no one trains any harder than me and if i got the basket out the car and saw birds had been bringing up feed id take them back home and treat them because i have learned that before the adenovirus strikes the birds get some kind of yeast or fugal infection in the crop that makes them throw up at this stage they can still handle and look ok then they start to have breathing problems which explains why they dont want to exercise they go very quite and there soft and there feet are freezing cold the feathers are not tight its like they have the flu if you train or race them they come home wings down some gape as if they are having trouble catching a breath and are knackered send them any distance and they cant take it they will go down ive said all this before on here but ill tell you again its caused by you or someone in your club vacinating there youngbirds and what is in the jagged yb droppings gives your old birds adenovirus for which there is no cure you can treat for secondary infections canker and cocci but it just has to run its course which varies from bird to bird but normally about aweek or two
