We use a book for breeding and we use a book for racing much like yous we like to try and see what's home when its home and we have my grandfathers books from years back we got a loft management system for the computer but the only thing it manages to do is be confusing
-
Got a couple a very honest bird is probobly the best way to put it
-
We have about 20 pairs or so racing and stock together and we had a first round that made it throught to the young bird end of 22 had a few that died in the nest think we flung about 10 or so in the bin so I feel a bit disappointed with the first round as I was looking for 35 but there's always a second round to come at last count think wee had about 25 eggs and 8 or so hatched
-
I was always told by my granfather and father that colours can skip generations that the colour my have been in its bloodlines as far back as 6 generations of birds so I think what they really mean is expect the unexpected
-
I think lanarkshire are going down west too as ayrshire are said to be going with us in last 3 races of old bird season it was 6 weeks yesterday to our first race of the season so now time to get our rears in gear

Ayrshire fed first race is lockerbie about 65miles to me first year we have been going down the west in years but I would think it will be a difficult race point but it will be the same for everbody 21st of april

We have breed them on the floor and in nest bowls and really there has been no difference in them apart from when the young one get a couple of weeks old then thay start running around the floor but if you lift the eggs there is a chance the hen may reject them I would just let them be

My old grandfather had a blue pied cock done the channel 4 times very good pigeon he use to tell us what time it would be home from the 500miles and that we were not to move as it would be in the tickets and like clock work for 3 years it was home first thing in the morning d 545am and the race he last it only took a look in to his eyes at 6am to no that it wasn't coming back that was the most annoyed and upset I had ever seen him but that's the sport we are in he use to say you win some and loss more

Just pick up on the post am only 26 but the birds have been in our family for over 60years my father brother and I took them over after my grand father death as they were his life and we didn't want what he had spent 60 years building and working hard at to mean nothing and somebody coming in and buying his doos for a fiver so we decide to form a partnership to keep his legecy going as we always found it a way that got all the family together, the way we see it is the pigeons are a part of our family and they always will be, but the sport in the uk need to look within to try and sort out how we can get a younger crowd in, now a lot of people are scared of with the money that has to be put in at the bigining ie get bird baskets clock and that's before you have even put a seed in there mouths so how do you get pass that does the national organizations get tegether and offer them a start up fund to get them started in the sport ie race for free in your first year or gift them a clock in the first year get them involved and at the end of the first season the money for the clock gets taken out of any prize money you have won , what am saying is there must be a way to get the younger generation involved and that must be looked at now to get sport back to what it was 25 30 years ago Does any one else think like this Sorry for been so long winded

well done I am 26 and am in partnership with my Father and Younger brother who is 20 and pigeons have been in our Family for more than 60years , But the problem is lack of awareness in the sport and it has struggled to move with the time but it is slowly moving in line with the times, Our Family will never give up on the pigeons. I do feel you film will help raise awareness.
