have to put my hands up to this one just like grasshopper PETS when you see the fantails out and about its a lovely site i really try my best giving birds away (and ALLWAYS for free) but you go to put another bird in a hamper you have a second look and say to yourself NO NOT THAT ONE it really is hard at times i remember as a kid keeping tipplers with my brother 35 years ago we lived in the tenth floor of a 12 story high rise we had a space behind the balcony door about 3x3 and about 4' high thats were we had our loft with about 12 /16 birds in it the perchs/nest-boxes were wooden beer creats the ones that had a wooden center divider (older members will remember them) and we nailed a piece of 2x1 or just whatever we could find across the front with sawdust in it was scraped very day and washed out with bleach once a week birds checked for canker and lice that was it easier than keeping birds now days some may think what where they at i was about 9/10 my older brother 13/14 but it give us many many years of enjoyment and happy flying thats why i want jack to have birds better that than standing on a street corner drinking or abusing older people when hes older check the post if your building a new loft please not one like this and you will hear of people flying from dog boxes coal boxes

we will be flying well just chilling really fantails don't fly a lot so we will be watching the fantail strut their stuff picking corn jacks been throwing for them bathing laying I the sun (HOPEFULLY) and preening their feathers maybe some of you racing fanciers should think about having a few fantails about they are GREAT for the kids lovely to look at and a nice distraction while waiting for your WINNER to come home

CHAIRDE FRIENDS after reading this some of you will be thinking what's he been doing this past lot of weeks I'm thinking about pairing up (see your thinking we already have chicks and micks only talking pairing up) so you are all a bit a head of jack and me (fantail-men enough said lol) great I can learn from your mistakes lol should I A put cock in nestbox by himself for a few days and add hen later (if so how many days) B put both in nestbox at the same time about adding nest bowls A in nestbox before birds B added after (how many days) I also read about nestbowls being in before birds but upside down ( remember this could be an important factor in breeding fantails for the cock to get his tail under the hen ) for hen to get away from the cock (should be like my house the wife just says no go to sleep sin e (thats it) now I know people do things differently from others so please don't just read this and move on YOU HAVE ALREADY PAIRED UP so how do you do it I need to learn mick and grandson jack aged 2
