  6. Here's hoping Derek, the bird that won today returned on Tuesday from the Consett disaster two weeks ago, the 2nd bird was 3rd fed from Ripon, last week (same way bred as 6411 ) and the 3rd pigeon won the club from Consett and was well up in the fed, was 6th club, 10th fed Ripon last week and it totally refuses to fly around the loft, doing around 5 mins at a time, he never flies with the batch and was always home before the others during training it's a funny old game this doo racing

  16. What time were the winners in your club Walter?
  17. I can vouch for that as he collected one of my Reims birds which had a broken wing, from a non-fancier and held on to it until our transporter was at Consett last week. Guys like Tommy are very hard to find, well done ;)
  18. Their still working back Walter, I just got one at 8.20 came oot the sky like a helicopter, still 3 to come out of 21
  19. Most members reporting decent returns with just the odd 1 or 2 missing.
  20. 21 to Ripon 230 miles
  21. Think possibly the fed winner aswell well done, cracking doo.
  22. I see a thread by Hjatland that has an Aberdeen young bird in Shetland, would be interesting to know if this bird was at Alnwick yesterday? If so it would be more evidence that when our fed and aberdeen are down in the north east of england the youngsters can quite easily misjudge their line and end up going past the North east of Scotland coast and away into the North sea. Food for thought there I think.
  23. Yesterdays result, hope this comes out okayResult Consett youngbird.HTM
  24. 20/42 from Consett, last one at 7.30pm last night. The Bermuda triangle strikes again. Our fed has tried every racepoint in those areas, Ridsdale, Whitley Bay, Alnwick, Hexham and without fail we get slaughtered there with the youngbirds. Don't think clashing was an issue for our fed yesterday, we went at 9.00a.m and I think the Berwick pigeons were all away by 7.15 (correct me if I'm wrong) as I posted on another thread last week it's the geography of the area, for some reason it's difficult for inexperienced birds to navigate. As for a solution  I don't know how to get around it. Out of all the bad youngbird races from the above racepoints in the last ten years, this one has been the worst for losses for me personally, possibly the birds took the widest part of the Forth and the west in the wind pushed them further onto the sea than they realised and they went past the North east corner here and into the North sea. My early birds came out of the North east to me, straight off the sea
