The blood of Ritchie & whyte is dominant in my family now mainly through a daughter of Margaret which bred good birds from her very first nest (2003). We realised in 2005 that this hen was special as in the feds longest race from hastings (470mls) we clocked 3 birds within 10 minutes before 5am to win 1,2,3 in the club around 45 mins ahead of the 4th placed bird the winner was from the daughter of margaret and the 2nd was a latebred carrying 7nestflights again from the same daughter of margaret (half brother to the winner) and the 3rd bird being a full sister of the 2nd placed latebred. The 3rd placed hen was dam of maverick who won a silver award with SNFC and won the joe murphy sporting challenge, he in turn is grandsire to blue monday who won 1st sect 118th open eastbourne SNFC In 2007 Bob gifted us another daughter of margaret and in her first nest bred a dark cheq hen who as a yearling won 1st club 5th fed hastings 470mls Another Ritchie & whyte cock (whose dam was a full sister to blue cock 6229 pictured above) was sire of our 3rd sect 49th open Falaise 601 mls. Most of the birds that have scored for us at national level have the blood of ritchie &whyte in them, especially the first daughter of margaret. Just wish I had some spare cash when Bob had his entire clearance sale. As Robbiedoo has said Bob is a true gentleman, i talk to him regularly and his knowledge of the sport is second to none Must say another great article Lewis, keep up the good work
