I received a letter tonight, that says, my club has taken a decision to temporarily suspend us from racing old and young birds for the remaining of the 2008 season. The decision was also confirmed by the Midlothian Pigeon Federation president and secretary. I only hope that all club secretaries within Midlothian Fed have been informed of the decision as this will have far reaching implications for their members, as any loft that has the misfortune to have any health problem will be able to be suspended from racing. We have never been invited to any club meeting to discuss this and even offered the club secretary to get a vet in and test our old birds(we have no y/b team) and if they came back clear then there was no basis for us to be stopped racing. This offer wasn't taken up.
It should be pointed out that the health problem is in a loft 2 miles from our own lofts and all fanciers who have had y/bs bred in our lofts are more than happy with them.
