thanks for all the input... I have had the neighbors down the road(not the stuck up ones next door) report the bird earlier this week. My dogs have seen the cat since trying to get at the loft but they chased it off... I have two air rifles and when it happend i thought of going over the fence and shooting it in its own garden but i know i only get fined or prosecuted. The eggs did hatch some time last nite as i found two squeaks in the bowl this morning. My new loft is nearly finsihed so i iwll be ably to get some of my birs into it probably next week. It is hopefully cat proof because i have fitted a bob-wire trap high up on the loft... Thanks for all advice

My dogs would rip it apart if they could get to the loft but i recently put a new fence up to stop the dog getting near the loft. The dogs would never harm any of my birds but when they are around it they think they belong with them and keep trying to get in... When it happend yesterday i got a bit P****D off and started shouting to the neighbours about what i was gonna do to their cat. I have had a few encounters with it before and them when it killed a few of my ducks... Thanks for the help bruno!!! any more input is really appretiated...

yesterday a cat got into my loft. It killed 1 bird before i could get it out. I dont know how it got in but i think it climbed up to the trap and then dropped in. The bird was ripped apart and i just saw the cat dragging it back to its house. The next door neighbours who own this cat are really stuck up. They dont care that it killed one of my pets and constantly teases my dogs. Has anything similar happened to anyone else because i need some advice on how to deal with the situation. P.S i only have a small amount of fancy birds and this has devastated me because i had a pair on eggs and they were disturbed and didnt go back to the eggs for about half an hour after...Will these eggs stil hatch??? any input is really appretiated... :-/

Even though rooney didnt make any BIG chances or score...you cant knock the effort he puts in. He was knocking all the sweeds off the ball. He aint a player who has to have his hair gelled before he plays, he is just an old fashioned battler... SACK THE SWEEDE

i have just read a previos thread and have noticed that it said something about having more than 2 eggs under a bird. I have a problem in my loft at the moment and i was wondering if it is ok to put 3-4 eggs under a bird or will it put them off the eggs they are already sat on...? please help ;D

hi paul i am new to the hobby and i have found that the easiest way is to watch their behaivior... the cocks drag their tales on the ground etc. Also they blow their crops up and coo deeper than the hens. Many people tell buy shape of the head. I dont use this method but i think if you feel the head then the hens should have a rounder head than the cocks. apart from the methods i just said their are many others like some people just do it on size(cocks are bigger) but i dont trust this method as i have made many mistakes... hope this helps...

hi i recently got a new pair of cock birds off my mate so that i could make up some pairs with the spair hen s in my loft. They were older birds so i new they would be hard to break to my loft. My mate who has been in pigeons for years cut the wing feathers for me...When i mean cut the wing feathers i mean cut the 'fluff' of the stem of the feathers leaving the bare quill. It worked very well and i let the birds out after a week and they never flew more than 20 meters from the loft. The only problem is i now want them flying to their full capability so how can i get the full feathers back... will new feathers come through during the moult or will i hve to pull all of the cut feathers out??? thanks alot
