I believe a pigeon can make it through any conditions , there's always a few that make good times , remember the 98% rule only a handful will ever be winners no mater how well bred they are , in simple terms if you don't like the conditions don't send or watch the results in hard conditions and try to get the best hard day birds you can get , in racing having the fastest birds doesn't always give you hard day birds you need both in your loft , Janssen based and sootgen pigeons are great on hard days and also fast birds I let two strays up in light drizzle last weekend even worse down the country with mist and they both made it back , quite simply if pigeons are good enough they will do the job a head too many paper birds out there they simply absorb the water and fall to bits when the going gets tough . The biggest motivation anyone can give there birds is love of home they don't get that from been hammered down the road in all states of tiredness , watching your birds at home flying around loft tells you exactly what there fitness levels are , tired birds exercised miles from home are only feeding the countless bops on route Just the way I see it if there good enough healthy enough fitness and form comes with good management and love of home is the thing most knock out of ybs , there only young birds for a few short months and there the future of your loft luck after them
