Is it to crack there very small nuts?
-
Fifer, some of the pads cover 4 holes depending on the make. Its worth looking at the pad sizes available before buying, in my mind i want the biggest pads available to allow for largest traps I can have on each loft! Phil

Its a funny sport, if members can't win in there own club they run away and join another or form a breakaway and are then happy to win in a second division club. Then new members join and they start to slip down the sheet and move again! Why don't people just raise there game each time a challenge is put infront of them? If you've got a top fancier in your club then raise your game and compete. ETS is no different there are to many people who think that ETS will make crap win races, the winners will still be the top fanciers and the dross will still be holding the sheet up. No offence intended to Dross! Phil

they will be ok together unless they are inbred themselves. If the breeder is saying No, then i would guess they maybe inbred already and you could have problems with the young. Of course if you are just pairing to race then they are clearly happy together so just swop the eggs and use them as feeders for racing. Phil

Spin Cycle, yes most companys will provide the club equiptment, which I beleive consists of the reader, printer and software. For a start what if the club doesn't have a computer to use the software on? Also does the reader need power/electricity? Our club house has no electric so if it is required then how could we be forced to use it?

I was just makeing a sugestion to help wings to race this season. I can't see the price comeing down, we held back on T3's in hope the price would come down but it hasn't. When people found a cheaper source, i.e import the importers wouldn't service and repair them then got the RPRA backing. Thats another story! PHil

Wings, if your club are not prepared to accept it and don't have the equiptment to opporate it then there is nothing you can do. My sugestion would be use the club for training, clocking when you are there and send to the nationals where you can use ETS. This way your efforts will not be wasted and in 12months time your club may have changed there mind! Phil

face it south and if it gets to hot use some blinds. If the ventilation is right it won't get to hot and the birds love to have sun on there backs! Phil

Go for it then Stuart, sorry, wasn't knocking you just that you will have to fight the dinosaurs first! Good luck
-
Stuart, also they will be looking for somebody highly educated to deal with the like of DEFRA etc, would you be able to do that?
-
Some good ideas, but you will never get nationals to get together or many combines. What would happen is you would get breakaway associations forming seperate from the RPRA!

Just accept it! No club can be forced to use it, it is up to them and as it says in the rules if a member turns up with ETS and the club doesn't have the equiptment then ETS doesn't have to be accepted! It is now down to clubs to decide if they want it or not so surely they can make a democratic descision as to wether they want it or not! Whats wrong with that? Phil

I for one will be sorry to see Peter go, he has always been very approachable which wasn't the case with his predesessors! He has worked hard for the sport, much of it thats not seen by the fancy! Good luck for the future Peter!

it was always 3 sensor/antenna's but as normal people try to bend the rules, i.e joining them! I was at Doncaster last year and Unikon agent was happy to sell an unsuspecting fancier as many pads as he wanted with no mention of the 3 ruleing, in fact I beleive he bought 6! Another poor fancier ripped off!

There has been a lot of discussion surrounding clubs and feds imposing time penalty's for people using ETS. The following should clarify the issue to show no time penalty may be imposed! ETS OVERWHELMINGLY APPROVED BY RPRA MEMBERS AT AGM - NO TIME PENALTIES- ONLY 3 PADS PER LOFT Friday 29th February saw the 114th annual general meeting of the RPRA. The top table for the RPRA at the AGM changed. It is congratulations to Les Blacklock from the Cumbria Region as he was voted in as President. Pat Mitchell remains as vice president along with Brian Mead and John Edwards. Congratulations to them all. As far as voting on the propositions was concerned this time last year members voted not to accept ETS for racing but at the following Council meeting Councillors had to address the Disability Discrimination Act and ETS was introduced under rule 142. The voting this year then would be a test to see if the membership endorsed the actions of Council and they have done overwhelmingly. Several of the propositions were passed unanimously by all regions and so I hope now that we can draw a line under all the debate and get on racing our pigeons. There were several propositions to introduce time penalties for those users of ETS and these were all defeated. Council went further to make the case clear at their evening meeting – Rule 189 clearly states that results are based on actual flying time and so time penalties for anyone using any clock are in contravention of RPRA rules. There were some other key rule changes. One proposition that fell was that of the number of pads allowable at the loft. The current rule is 3 pads per loft and this will stand for 2008. The joining together of say 2 antennae pads by a cable to make a 6 antennae ‘pad’ is not acceptable; this is deemed as 3 pads. The rules passed at this AGM will be published in full as soon as possible for all to see.

Sounds like a good combination, hopefully we'll get to Nottingham this year so may see them there. Phil

what did you pair the silver hen to?
-
Sorry, Chubs said Show not Fair. Thought Chubs was refering to the Old Comrades show returning to doncaster in December!
-
Chrissy, when did men ever listen to women? ;D
-
oh yes, get racing out of the way first before the shows start again!
-
the main transporter picks up the central clubs and the smaller outlying clubs are picked up by a smaller feeder transporter then the baskets are transfered onto whichever transporter is going to the race point.

Wiley is right, no club, fed or region can impose any penalty! But according to the rules though if a member turns up at a club with ETS and the club does not have the facility to use ETS it does not have to be accepted. Any open races and nationals etc must state if they are able to accept ETS or not. In this case a club can choose not to use it!

just accept it, why keep trying to find a way to get one over on progress!
