    you mean this beast?
  5. it won't happen, the RPRA will not allow a show within a show. Nothing to stop you organising it in a seperate venue but would it be suported?

no problem, sorry i was a bit busy to chat long and good luck with the bird. Phil
  9. David is very genuine as are the pigeons, I along with a couple of others on the forum have had the pleasure to meet David. As we know the original pigeon is still there and doing well as well as junior. The hen that merlin gave David unfortunatly escaped but i've since given David a youngster and another hen to go with Bluey which are all now going out. Vic, it is definatly a genuine story which we can all learn from!! Phil
  10. they don't need it, leave it for 30mins after feeding. Only leave water when feeding young.
  11. take feeders and drinkers out and just provide for feed time.
  12. anybody who has forgotten what the site is for or what the sport is all about should be made to read the thread, just puts everything into perspective! Phil
  13. following is a copy of an e-mail from David a few days ago, i'm sure he won't mind me posting it as so many are asking whats happened! Phil Many thanks for the email. It's a bit spooky actually, as I got half way through a long PM to you, and my Internet connection dropped (Friday night). I was going to do another this week. Things have been really hectic at work, I was without the internet for about a month, and have been ill which kept me away for too long. Hope you are doing well!! The pigeons are doing very well and my lack of contact doesn't reflect my lack of enthusiasm for them. They seem to like their own space despite the cold weather. Had a fright last weekend with Penny though! I had the Friday off work to finish off flight work and clean out shed. You'll probably swear at me, but I've left off clipping wing as she seemed a bit miserable, and have been careful with door, etc. Besides, I didn't think she'd be able to fly much. Anyway, she got out of the shed and flew onto my neighbours conservatory. I tried to coax her down, but she eventually flew past me and onto a roof opposite. I was out there watching her fly back and forth for nearly 2 hours. Then she flew off out of sight. I thought that was it. Next day (Sat), I couldn't see her anyway, but looked out of bedroom window at roofs through binoculars. I spotted her on a roof in distance. I walked down there and rattled food. She didn't want to know. Later on, Junior came home from exercise so I took him down and threw him in direction of roof. He flew up there. I hoped he'd lead her home. I walked back home and a few minutes later they both flew over the house. Junior came back in, but Penny stayed on roof opposite then flew off. Next day (last Sun), I went into garden and she was on our roof. I rattled food, and she was down like a shot. Very hungry. I spent the next hour coaxing her from shed roof in through Sputnik by calling and rattling food and putting drinker just inside. After a while, she hopped in, and has been on ever since. Can't believe she didn't just take off. Would like to let her out again, but a bit scared Apart from calling me stupid, what do you think? By the way, Berwyn is now top bird in the shed!!! David
  14. if you keep them painted then they are easier to keep clean and all the joints etc are sealed to keep out nasty's!
  15. were not in the radius here but wouldn't wany to fly with them anyway, just saying i wish we did fly due south as it would also reduce the clashing.
  16. south is much better from here stops dog legging?
  17. The welsh north road fed fly south east! The racing in the combine/national may have been ok on the east side of wales but from mid accross to the west coast racing hasn't been good at all! Phil
  18. you can always rely on your on your friends to remind you that you are another year older!!!

good idea which would maybe help find the cause but how many fanciers don't even know they've got it or even what it is? Phil
  21. David has been busy with work and had computer problems for a while but hopefully will be online to update us all. The birds are well though and still upto there usual antics! Phil
  22. have a read of this thread. http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1227650029/s-0
  23. fantastic gesture Stewart, I think Richard could just make a poll from the regular members on here most day/evenings as they are the main contributors. There is one thread that realy sticks in my mind over the last 12 months, not only through the help and advice given and the enthusiasm that the poster (David) has but it realy, in the whole summed up what the forum should be about and that is "pigeon in my Kitchen"! Phil
  24. there shouldn't be a reason for anybody to want to leave but there are occassions when some members need reminding of the rules etc and pointing back in the right direction. Good luck with whatever you decide for 2009! Phil
