  1. i agree entirely,,,but theres allways exception to the rule ,,,,but that exception, [in my opinion ] is not to be followed, if you want to keep winning , wooff bros of new ollerton have continually topped the fed,, both north and south rd, for over 50 years , never with an overcrowded loft ,,,,the likes of these fanciers we should listen to,, not to the exception to the rule, fanciers :)
  2. yes, it would be great,, bet we could learn a lot,, [that we just dont know] i havent a clue how this would work but great if it did,, it would indeed give us valuable info. on routes ,losses the ,hows, why,s and whats ,,,even hawk nests
  3. what if the transporter faces the wind ;D, both sides lib in the same side-on wind ;D i think really as frankdooman says ,, the fitest , keenest birds , are off b4 you can blink
  4. give it your best shot ,, amdeliveries ,, best of luck,,why not make a deal with " the phantom flier"im sure both of you, could arrange something ,between each other ,, if you could manage it better , cheaper, care for the birds better than amtrak , ,,,get into the biggies ,,,get some deals on wheels im sure this can oust amtrack ,,need a good bussiness brain though , but perfectly possible ,,,,good luck
  5. knowing allan darragh well, and, indeed proudly appearing on panels along with allan , [in my opinion ,one of the best pigeon fliers, ,,,ever, he breathes dreams and lives for pigeons ] his knowledge on pigeons is incredable, , but i can assure anyone [after visiting alan quite a few times ] in fact , topped the fed with a free bird fom him the lofts and room he has , has to be seen to beleived , there is certainly not any overcrowding , plenty free fresh air ,in all his lofts , and for the amount of birds he keeps, you couldnt even "smell pigeons",,,one loft struck me, was an" approx" 8 by 6 , in this loft ,at that time were TWO pigeons, earmarked for a special race , [not over crowded ] now this man wins , wins and wins , with plenty fresh air per loft and just enough birds per loft , with no overcrowding ,,,its the likes of this man we should be taking heed from,,,,,,,,an expert [proven]
  6. very unfortunate karl, and bound to have got you wound up,, but in hind sight , it might have been better having a copy , to produce,,as it is within the rights of the club , to ask for this vaccination card [really down to defra , ruling] so not really sure its the clubs fault , maybe a bit hasty in resigning , but i fully understand your situation, especialy at the very first race ,,,,,best way is show them your vaccination sheet , then beat them ,,,best of luck
  7. well done bristolkev ,,,,,and well done to helen for the kindness shes shown
  8. this pigeon has been looked after by my cousin a non fancier ,for a few days now,,,stamped wing can only be made out as phone 0151 639 ????,,,,,the ring no is GB 08 X 35071 ,, he has a cottage at Corwen , Wales [but stays in liverpool] hes had to leave the bird in a barn with plenty of food and water [bird has its freedom] he is returning to Corwen on tuesday ,,,,,,,,,i think theve grown quite attached to this bird and call it" pete" ;D [pete the pigeon ;D] my cousin and wife have been concerned about this bird and would dearly love to see it back with its owner
  9. max 40 pigeons ,if well ventilated ,,,,as for fancy pigeons, would depend on the type of fancy pigeon
  10. i handed in to the last shu secy, over 500 pigeon rings, found beneath perigrines nests by gamekeepers [including the letters and addy,s of the game keepers] this was AFTER the rspb cleared their nests of pigeon rings [see hawks posts] i also sent the whole hawk post to linda including the pictures :-/..............in my book the rspb should be charged with the theft of the owners rings [the fanciers had to pay for them ,so they belong to them ] if this could be possible to go to court ,and the fanciers won their case [i,e proof, cameras, witnesses etc] this would have a devastating effect on the rspb,,,,,,,,,,,,BUT, THEY ARE GOD, OR THEY THINK THEY ARE...THERE IS BUT ONLY ONE GOD, so my thoughts are that this should be looked into very carefully ,,,,,,,,,not one ring has been reported by the rspb as being found in a bird of prey,s nest, but plenty have been found by the rspb in their nests ,,,,,,,,,so where have they went,THE RSPB HAVE MOST CERTAINLY NOT RETURNED THEM BACK TO THE RIGHTFULL OWNERS, TO ME, THAT IS STEALING
  11. i re-iterate rose remarks , but would also add ,, try and find out ,how your selected fancier, manages them , for me this is the all important ,especialy in sprint races

  15. i think if you look at it deeper [i would certainly never give up , never , never , never,, ] we are fighting a massive battle , many things have been tried,,,and failed ,,,,,,,,,,,it needs a massive army to beat them , and really that means , the highest of polititians ,the greatest lawyers ,,, the highest of law judges ,,,,,,,,,and big big money. ,,,,,,,,,,but no, never give up
  16. this has to do wth this post chris, as i have been taken advantage of ,,by others mis leading me
  17. this is the cash raised ,,thanks to all the fanciers , fortunately enough, there are more of them ,than of the other
  18. i agree with these remarks , but can assure you it does happen , i was told by an ex preident of an ex club that i had no rights to use" their" place,,,,,,,,,,,a public bar lounge ,,,with permission from the landlord,,,,,,,,,,blinking shocking
  19. allthough i think most on here mean well, i have to say, i agree with vic,,[hard as it may sound ] but nevertheless true
  20. have seen this colour b4 in the jan aarden strain [beleive it or not]
  21. this charity is made up of many, but most are dis-satisfied rspb ex members who have seen the light
  22. i havent looked at any of the websites printed in this thread,, but in my experience [and its a long one] overcrowding is , or, can never be described as a good thing,, the opposite , and i am talking of my own experience having tried most ways of keeping pigeons , i have overcrowded lofts b4 to my own misfortune , and would never, ever do this again , as i have said b4 , pigeons that win regular , must have the three c,s ,,,,contentment, condition, and control , and in my opinion would most certainly never obtain this with an over crowded loft, winning with pigeons regularly,,must have these qualities [the three c,s] and an over crowded loft , is most definately not the way to achieve this ,,this is only my opinion,
  23. well done dogeon ,,travelling this far to pick up your pigeon,, and off course well done to the non fancier in getting the bird and reporting it,, [deserves a big mention of thanks ] to me , it looks like someone has tried to grab it by its tail, but off course could be many reasons,, but whatever the reason ,,good luck with the bird and hope it makes a speedy recovery looking at the pic again , could well be a hawk with the marks on its back,,
  24. i am a member of this society , and agree with the post above
