Where I live , in the west section of Scotland, if you can guarantee to get your pigeons to do 950 ypm in the SNFC channel races then you would almost certainly win 1st west section at least once every year. If you could achieve this then you would be looked upon as the best fancier in Scotland. Now do you see the difference flying 500 mls into different locations. ps 1200 ypm is a blow home to us

Been reading this thread with interest and I believe you all have missed a very important point. LOCATION can determine the percentage of pigeons capable of flying 500 mls. Here in Britain, if you lie on the east side of the country then I feel getting pigeons from the distance races is slightly easier.

18 birds m8, the way I work it out is 6x6 = 36 halved =18 birds. If it was 8x8 it would be 64 halved = 32
