From a Scottish point of view, there are only pros. No more Scottish service people would be sent to die for the American empire by an English votes for a UK government of hired collaborators. We could bury every last vestige of Thatcherism deep, with a stake through its heart, and build the decent, caring socialist or social democratic society that most of us actually want. Thatcherism has been hated and rejected by the people of Scotland since 1979. True, we are no longer treated as an English subject colony, as all Celtic Britain was before devolution, but we are still paying for a useless cold war nuclear force, bankrolling the criminals who bought public utilities for a knockdown price, privatisation and outsourcing of UK government work, etc etc. As an independent nation, we could end this robbery, colonial status in the American empire, and institutionalised corruption for generations, maybe forever. Ok , Ive vented my spleen, enough of this political stuff for me, im a mere commoner, a dooman.
