  1. The birds arrived at Eastbourne at 14:35 this afternoon (Friday) - this was later than anticipated but extra stops were made to water the birds due to the high temperatures. The convoyers have managed to position the transporters on site so that birds are now enjoying a cool breeze coming in off the sea. 455 members sent 2494 birds - Section A: 136; Section B: 699; Section C: 561; Section D: 275; Section E: 398; Section F:153; Section G: 272

Always tough at 600 + mls.The heat and distance takes away any hope of speedy doos, mind ye I still think their will be 1 or 2 on the night.
  4. LOL , why did I know you would say that, I rest my case ma lud lol. Try it without implementing it to see what the result would look like then we could decide if its feasible. You have the weather archives for anywhere in the country so the formula could be used with this.Im only saying for this to be used at National level, not club/fed stuff.
  5. Ive said it on here many times Dal, the fairness in this sport is needing looked at. Anybody outside pigeons would think we were nutters racing and competing in the format we do. There shouldn't be sections,we should be pooling against each other.Think of the money that could be won then. Just needs a formula put in place to decide the best pigeon on the day. Wind, terrain, drag, location, fatigue factor etc etc. It wouldn't make it completely fair but would maybe square things up about 80-90%.ps. THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN, WHY ???
  6. There are different types of pigeon in every race, ones to fly 12 hours to 470 mls ( south ) and ones to fly 17 hours to 600 mls ( north )so why don't we cater for them all?
  7. Definitely, but now and again the disadvantaged boys need a wee turn.
  8. Here you have guys from the east and south saying no way to midday libs, says it all doesn't it. All pigeons lying out is not a bad thing and brings a wee bit fairness to the sport BUT that does not and will not ever happen. Selfishness is always the killing factor . The last time we had a late lib the Gold cup was won in Peterhead. Nothing beats a doo on the night from the Gold cup, I agree, but lets think of others that this thrill is not possible . Its a national, that means ALL OF SCOTLAND not just east and south.

Due to the situation at Dover/Calais and difficulty in obtaining confirmation of ferries for next week the race from Ypres will now take place from Eastbourne. Race marking will take place tomorrow (Thursday 2nd July) as arranged. We have also had news from our contact Stefaan Van Moerbeke in Ypres who advised against a race from Ypres this weekend due to hot weather as it is 34 degrees in the shade and too hot for liberating birds to race. Maybe its all for the best

Wattie, different crossing m8, Ancenis cross at Portsmouth. We couldve went to Carentan instead of Ypres with the same crossing , but that's another option.

im quite surprised no one is voicing their preference so the snfc committee can take it on board before making a judgement. This isn't a witch hunt or criticism for the SNFC, its constructive debating on what its members want at a critical time. Can only go on my own loft Mav, if its postponed ill only have half the numbers .

This is constructive debating and everybody has an opinion and is entitled to voice it, ps. Ive been on committee 4 times. Also, you have now stopped folk saying what they would like to happen although its down to the SNFC committee of course.

I think their should be a race from the coast, common sense says to put it back a week will lose half the convoy as nest condition wont suit.expletive remove not rocket science
