What's the longest race you've known or heard of? What do you think the limit in miles of a top notch well conditioned long distance bird would be?
-
1 or 2 books relating to pigeon racing which ones would they be & why?

I'm not exactly young but young ish (26) Out of maybe the 50 people who know i'm interested in pigeons 2 think it's very interesting the rest think i'm completely mad. 'jack duckworth' i get at least weekly! (doesn't help i own whippets too mind! There are very very few people interested in any type of country sport anymore, i personally am involved in a few but young blood in any of these is very thin, the fact is the old ways are going for good, it's just the way it is. I bet a lot of eskimo's/inuits can't build an iglo anymore! Look at the way we're discussing this? over the internet..... all that said i'm trying to start a young lad off with rollers at the minute, building a little kit box. To inspire young people with the totally amazing feats these little feathered warriors achieve is the way, get kids & grandkids out releasing birds & seeing them trap back in, my little lad loves 'his' roller, always wanting to fly it & thought of having racers is got him really going.
