  1. I'm trying to pair my yearlings, there's a lot of noise & not a lot of action! I've split them then introduced hens once cocks claimed box & got one pairing from that but the hen's feeding cock but no sign of nesting & that was couple of weeks ago & other 2 hens want to be as far as poss from cock, i've let them have run of loft now which seems like there might be more going but i really was expecting something a bit sooner! they're doing my head in! any tips people? Is it just cos they're yearlings? as not had this problem with oldr fancy pigeons. cheers, james.

    Hen wanted

I have a spare cock & want a older hen to pair to him, i've not got loads to spend but want something worthwhile, also need it as close as poss to bawtry near doncaster so i can collect. Cheers! james.
  3. Is it a ticket only job & if so where do i get one?
  4. L.O.L while to wait l.o.l
  5. When is it?
  6. ib - i'm just feeding a breeder mix, with minerals & layers pellets added.
  7. yep one of them passed one, i'm not convinced that's a good thing though? When any other animal/bird passes them it's cos they've built up to such a level they come out wether they like it or not, i'd say seeing worms is a sure sign that they need worming. My dad is a doctor of microbiology for food industry , is there anything on net showing cocci / canker?
  8. Happens i know a little about microscopes! My dad is a doctor in microbiology so there's a couple lying about! He's been retired a while now but reckon it'd make his day to sift through some samples! Where can i get the notes on what i'd actually be looking for? PLUS - these stock birds i have that i've noticed have worms, they are yet to go down on eggs but i think it's imminent, should i wait till they've reared young to treat for the worms as hen could be eggy now?
  9. I'm only down road from retford poultry so can have tests done if required, i know the birds need worming as i've seen one yesterday, Apart from the para wotsit jab is anything else required to race? I've had quite a bit to do with livestock & haven't seen blind treating like there is in pigeons. I've dealt with cocci in other birds etc & wouldn't have dreamt of treating them for it if there were no signs. Also...I've seen there is a para/pox combi jab is this worth getting? And don't worrie about me leanut tar , i work with computers for a living so i'm quite good with the www, a lot of my time is spent learning & a lot of that at the mo is pigeon based l.o.l
  10. I'm about to buy in all drugs for the birds, me question for those that know is when i get my young birds at what point should i treat & what do you treat for as a matter of routine? Interested in peoples routines so i can get some idea where to start, thanks.

  16. Hello, As a very green brand new to the racing 'scene' lad i find eyesign very hard to believe, i'm very sceptical, Is there any proven scientific fact that this works? has a pigeon with what looks like bad eyes turned out to be a winner & vice versa has a pigeon with good eyesign turned out to be a dudd?
  17. thanks everyone, gagging to get started!

  24. I'm very excited at prospect of training my new racers when the time comes & phillip's gonna be exhausted from the grilling i'm gonna give him at the weekend! ;D I'm sucking up as much info as poss & trying to get as much info as poss, i'm not a total novice as i've been flying a kit of rollers & had some other types but this here racing is a different league!... Was wondering if any of you can remember some of the mistakes you made when starting up? yours in sport, james.
