all mine are raced hard from day one it sorts the good from the rest

i had one same in 06 both eyes completly closed and scabbed over just kept batheing it till it loosened and peeling the scab off a bit at a time,but her head was completely scalped took ages to get somewhere near right again

all pigeons in my loft have to race up to 300mls as yearlings no matter what they were bred from because only the basket will tell you if you if they are anygood or not

best pigeon in my loft was bred in 03 off a pair of gift birds my dad was given in 01 from a local fancier its mother was raced 16 times in 2 seasons and it carded in every race it had.the son bred in 03 has has raced in 12 races a season since 04 winning from 50mls up to 512mls which he won as a 2yr old he consistently is in my 1st 4 birds home every week and i still dont know strain he is BUT i don't care because he does the damage

my mate won that class also won class 31 he got a few more cards as well always does well in shows. hes got some cracking eyesign pigeons

back from blackpool dint buy any birds but tempted to buy a pair of beauty homers and show racers , then thought where will they go no spare space in loft

i have a bronze van reet hen always cards in show pen also cards when racing

yes it was big but very warm and a lot of people there liked looking round the new lofts and fancy pigeons its probably all i go to see did buy a few items but NO pigeons

i agree its got far too big but it didn't help that the leopold rooms weren't being used this year so everything got squashed together , its also not very wheelchair friendly cos we were pushing a friend round and getting nowhere cos people wouldn't move some were just rude getting pushed past with no apologies next year going later in the day to avoid most of the crowds. but overall i do enjoy blackpool show and especially the fancy birds in the spanish hall might go and buy some of them just to look at

yes well done there were some cracking birds on show again.

antibiotics should only be used if your birds are sick . but i think that losses are so great because people breed so many birds more quantity than quality a few years ago you'd breed maybe 20 or so but now you breed 50 or 60 i once bred 120 young birds first 25 mile toss lost 50 got round to racing i had 40 left ended the season with 28 now i only breed 30/40 birds with 50% losses i dont blind treat if something is wrong with them then i will treat them but i wouldn't put losses down to just blind treating there are other factors to be considered

i wont be spending my hard earned cash on pigeons that even there owners dont want. my mate bought 1 at last years show total sh*t

i'm not a fan of grizzles but the rest of the look cracking. but then again i also dont like pied ones ,only got mainly blues and chequers in my loft the only exceptions are 1 red cheq cock and a daughter out of him

i'm going again but got to drive there this time last year went on a coach trip to show me,my dad and 2 mates drank a bottle of brandy b4 8am so got to stay sober this year

the only winning secret is 100% dedication you can buy all the best birds available but if you dont put the effort in you will always be a runner up

i go to bjf farm feeds there prices have incresed but still cheaper than other corn providers in my area . i have used there corn for 3@1/2 yrs and i wont change because it is good quality

never heard of pairing on full moon and me dads had pigeons on@off for 37 yrs so try it may work or may not

i use a t3 but am not bothered if most fanciers use the ets it will not stop me enjoying racing my pigeons . you can argue all you want about whether it is fair or not but most fanciers see it as a way forward in the sport and the only way we can go is forward, so dont dwell in the past embrace the technology and move forward with the times
