    breeding

does anyone breed all year round?
  2. if you can get the supplies and sell without running out then it works. if people are not suppling when theres demand...push in. take their business. that would be my idea. your in an area where pigeon supplies are needed. take advantage mate.
  3. for £50 is not a bad deal. well done.
  4. i cant see it doing a big turn-over. theres to much compotiton for pigeon feed and its not even a big market. i would buy it in bulk when you visit malcky at travel cost. it would be better to research the market for buyers before you start the business up.
  5. haha! my door wont fit in the car
  6. shut the cocks in the boxes for a few days then put the hens in the box with the cocks. lock them in though. wait a few days then unlock the boxes.
  7. you mast have extended the drive! would you deliver the feed to my door?
  8. it was a bit tight parking a ford ka when i visited, so parking a lorry would be a pain. i do agree that doing it from home would be a bit more work than from a unit. what would you sell?
  9. there are places that have regular customers,so there would have to be a huge demand for the product in the area you should also sell products that aren't easy to get from shops i.e sputniks, traps boxes, baskets, even pigeons. as long is theres the demand, theres a business. maybe do it from home and see how it goes.
  10. is it cheaper to buy the materials than to buy the loft?
  11. 40 young birds, really that much? hat about a 6x4 with a 3x4 aviery?
  12. the sheds i have are bone dry, aivery on my racing shed and one doweled door on the top half on the stock loft. not over crowded either. any pics of shed/lofts?
  13. does anyone use garden sheds as lofts? i have a 6x6 with aviery for racing team (6 birds) and a 6x4 for 3 stock pairs. is this ok? was thinking of buying a loft to split into 3 sections. about 14x8x6.
  14. how much loft exercise should young birds do before their first toss?
  15. its good advice, but its old birds that came from another loft. would they not break?
  16. sound advice. cheers
  17. how hard is it to break old birds after they have youngsters or are sitting eggs? whats the best way of doing this?
  18. does anyone race small teams of birds? if so, how many?
  19. that was nice, he must mean the world to you.
  20. i seen a hawk attack, the guy up the road was training his birds, probably 30+. the hawk got above them and tried the surprise approach. the birds scattered then bunched back up and kept doing so until they got to the loft. the hawk was gone, but the birds were still scattering every few minutes. maybe they this to let the hawk know it was seen.

    Pigeons On Tv

    cheers, i will record that
  22. if you see a kit of birds loft training, notice how they all move in the same direction at a split second notice? so for me the theory of birds at the back having their view obstructed wouldnt matter. they would follow the bird in front. they must use photographic memory if they flew the course before.

  25. i saw an episode of top gear where james may races pigeons home. in the film they had cameras on the pigeons. if we could all get those cameras it would solve the mystery of missing pigeons.
