  2. Can anybody help me contact are trace the owner of this fine blue cock SU09NW4245, or at least tell me which area it comes from as it entered our huts last weekend absolutely shattered, and has come round a treat. I am travelling to Blackpool this weekend for the illuminations with my children, and having struggled to get in anywhere as its Scottish weekend, i was wondering wether any fanciers from Scotland were coming down, and could give this pigeon a very good chance of returning home, as im sure somebodies missing him. just trying to save somebody £30 quid or so on carriage, its a long way to fly back from Pontefract, Simon

  3. Chris, as ive already stated and you seem either not to understand what ive said, or your not quite up to speed, than i will inform you again.

If a bird belongs to you, either by gift, purchase or any other legitamte or leagal reason then you can sell the bird on, irrespective of wether the bird is transfered to yourself or not. How on earth do you think bereavement sales and charity sales ( off old stock), can take place if it wasnt allowed!!!

  4.

if you can sell a bird that has not been transfered to you why if you race a stray [iE  A BIRD NOT TRANFERED TO YOU]YOU CAN GET HAMMERED FOR IT?,if the ring is not in your name then the ring belongs to somebody else and is not your property to sell , i was not going to bother any more but now i will get in touch with the rpra to clarify this issue

Youve answered the question yourself Chris, there is rules in place for racing pigeons, ie, they have to be registered to yourself, but as for stock, theres no such rule, possibly because of the reasons i mentioned earlier, the RPRA will only tell you the same.

The only way around this is if a new rule was ever to be brought in, which states that every bird in your possession must be transfered to yourself, but i cant see it happening, imagine how much money that would cost some folk for there stock transfering, not that some of the big studs cant afford it!!

  5.

agreed mate my point is you should not/cannot sell them if they are not transferred to you as the ring is not yours, what happens if you buy one of these it gets out and you get the stray report, but it was sold to another on this site after you GAVE IT  TO HIM,the best thing this guy [and frankly admin] can do is drop this sale very fast, get all of the proper details together, and then come back and try again

I have dealt and assissted in many of auctions now, more often than not and unfortunately it is usually the case that its a bereavement sale/ auction. Countless times i have known stock birds to have been sold when they were not actually transfered to the person for whom the sale was in aid of. The point, cannot sell these birds is farcical to say the least, there is no rule that exists that states that you cannot sell a pigeon that is not transfered to yourself, possibly due to the fact that so little pigeon fanciers ever do transfer there stock. Thats why we see pigeons ring numbers in the found section of the bhw and rpra, why, because most lightly the stock may have got out or escaped, and the fancier will have already contacted the union, only to find out that the fancier has deceased years ago, or simply no longer flies, hence the found report.

its not an ideal world we live in!!

  6.

agree, if somebody wanted to be funny, he could be done for handleing stollen prop if he can't prove ownership!

First and for most, to commit an act of handling stolen goods

a the birds have to be stolen

b the owner has to believe or have knowledge that they may be stolen also.

One of the birds in the sale, lot 13 as ive already stated is actually my bird, sold to Mickey two years ago, and no he never transfered the bird, but, do we all actually transfer our stock, i would say at least 75 % dont. Mickey, though on the other hand has purchased 10 youngsters this year and the year previous, all transferred straight away.

In relation to him not replying last night, i can vouch for the lad as we spoke, he was out still celebrating his brothers wedding, and assured me he was going to have many a drink on me, so give the lad a chance and a break, like previously stated, if hes off line, then how can he reply.

Mickey asked my advice about the birds and what to do. He was a keen new starter who took most gift birds offered to him and bought, in my opinion some fantastic stock. Like we all do at times, we end up over stocked and not knowing what to do with the birds, sometimes not even breeding from them giving them the justice they deserve, but thats pigeon racing and fanciers alike, we all want to get to the top.

I think this auction is a great chance for people to get some good stock birds cheap, yes, details are limmited, thats possibly why there there for auction and are so cheap, and i also believe that if i like the look of a pigeon, i dont necessarily look at the pedigree when buying, and it aint served me wrong yet!!!

Ive text mickey, so maybe youll get your answers your looking for.

  7. Hi Mickey, hope all goes well with this sale, i know what youve spent and somebody will get some bargains. Reference lot 13, i know youve lost most of the paperwork, so i can assisst a little. lot 13 was one which i bred and gave to you. He is staf Van Reet x Jansen, and won as a youngbird, 2nd club, 3rd club and 5th club, beaten every time buy loft mates when taking first 5-6 positions. He was badly wired as a yearling and was unable to race after that date, hence why i sent you him across, i know ive sent you that many, so its easy to forget. His full brother this year was 2nd club Faliase 335 miles twice, beaten by loft mate and 4th & 7th fed respectively. The Vn reet lines are bred from my best stock bought from good friend Steve Parry barnsley, when he gave up the sport. Still the only person to ever achieve 1st, 2nd, 3rd Mid Yorkshire Combine. The Jansen lines are bred from the stock i purchased from Frankie beck of Manchester, same way bred as 2x fed winners this year. This cock will throw winners out for fun in the right hands. glad to ee youve not put the old lad up, get what you can while you can, his last youngbird at my lofts won last week. good luck with the sale mate, Simon Toon

  8. Well Mickey, it hasnt taken you long to get that first prize, though i know it wouldnt, the work and enthusiasm you put in mate, you deserve it, big well done from us both. I got your message yesterday mate, i was busy taking my clocks off, made a great day all round, we won ours again too!

So i had a massive drink on you last night pal, well done mate, and heres hoping for the next race, Simon

  9. sales list attached, Simon

  10. Due to the untimely death of very good friend Ian Hinchcliffe, of Mr & Mrs Hinchcliffe Ledston Luck, Kippax we have organised and entire clearnace sale on behalf of his lovely wife Doreen.

The venue for the sale is at the Normanton Federation HQ, Cutsyke Working Mens Club, Ackton Road, Cutsyke, Castleford, West Yorkshire WF10 5JB, commencing 3-15 pm Sunday 5th July 2009.

Ian has spent a fortune on obtaining some of the most upto date pigeons there are, in the sale will be 40 pigeons, mainly directs from Cyriel Lambrech himself and the legendry Bill Duckworth from Darwin, Manchester. Ian has flown at the top level for many of years, winning everything there has been to win, including topping the mighty Mid Yorkshire Combine from 500 miles aswell as winning consistantly every year in our best sprint club around, the Cutsyke two bird club.

No money was ever spared, and these pigeons would never be for sale if the circumstances were different, Ian had bought a stock foundation to last for many years to come.

These lambrech birds will compete against any top birds around, and are quickly becoming a sprint/ middle distance sensation within our area, Ian being one of the very first to bring the birds over here.

Everything must be sold and nearly all birds have pedigrees with them which will be on the pens on the day.

Ians very best friend, Mick Simpson of Tadcaster won 17x 1sts last year with the very asme birds, and already this season has won every land race bar one, taking the first four and five on most occasions, aswell as topping the fed at least three times.

Here is the fanciers chance to get some of the best birds around, birds that are winning now and not yester years winners, Dont miss out and get left behind, again.

For further details or any information please contact our Fed president Mr Pop Wilby 01977517901, or myself 01977 704834

  11. Well done Mickey mate, fantastic result for the first old bird race ever, as i said its a whole new ball game.Take no notice of the moronic buffon who slates your 5th, funny, never heard him winning anything, usually the case. Keep up the good work, you deserve everything you get with all that hard work you keep putting in mate, Simon

  12. JSTOON are you implying that Asha A. hasn't done much good. B. Never done any good C. nothing of late. D he knows nowt about pigeons. I mean you may be doing the same as Asha... drawing a universe from one line lol :P ;D ;D

    Just jesting...

P.s I flew a great Kyte once.... once only actually lol.

Well Roland, youve one up on me, never bloody managed to fly a kyte in my life, mine always broke, mind you it was from the ten bob shop, thats posssibly the equivalant to a pound shop these days LOL ;D

  13. I cannot believe that some moronic pigmme can slag such good flying off, for me these lads have taken pigeon racing to another level. I have bought birds from these lads who are the most down to earth people going, and would give you any advice needed. Straightway these birds won the club and topped the fed for me, and both best bird young and hen in my club was won by myself, bred from stock i have bought from WLG. Obvioulsy other people are winning with these birds, i went to there sale at Blackpool, 50 lots fethched around £25 grand, who needs the nationals!!!!!

Asha, why not put all your results up, sure it wont take long. If people spent as much time with there birds as they did knocking folk on the computer, they might actually do something!!!

  14. Wow!!, Well mate, all i can say is a big well done, it looks fantastic, i know how much time youve put into getting everything right, all we need now mate is that little old lady luck, with that set up mate, your keeness, im sure youll get those just deserts.

And may i say fantastic looking children youve got, keep telling you, racings silver, breedings gold!!.

Glad the youngsters have settled and look after "Boony", his nickname, that good looking old chap i sent you, he will repay you. All thats left to say mate is i cant wait to visit, your mate Simon.

    Ps sent you a pm

  15. I have two stock birds from Tumley lofts, two Jansen hens, one direct from the famous 10 hen and 1 direct from Jubilee 05 bred, between them they have bred some 15 winners, 4x fed winners, true honest pigeons at a very good price. And ive only lost 1 yb in three years off them both, paired onto different cocks. Thankyou Derek & James

  16. Thanks for that Les. Ive just come off the phone with Steve and other local fanciers, and the  general feeling is that 1 auction be done, possibly somewere central between Barnsley and Goole, possibly the NADS club at Knottingley, which is used quite often as an auction venue. I will update as everything gets set in stone, thanks Simon

  17. Lastnite a took a phone call from a good friend of mine and ex pigeon champ from Barnsley Steve Parry, requesting some help with his cause. For those people who dont know Steve, he was one of if not the best flyer that Barnsley has produced, and would help anyone and any cause but due to work committments Steve had to call it a day in 2006 as Steve was a 100% man, no less. Since finishing in the sport he has had chance to watch his son play footabll more often, and has now become part of the board at his sons club, Goole AFC formerly Goole Town. The club has existed for some 100 years plus and at present sit quite well in the Unibond Div 1 South. Over recent times the club, like so many clubs and societies around has fallen on hard times, so much so that if drastic action isnt taken, the club will shortly no longer exist.

Action plans are already underway so that the club can attempt to try and raise some revenue, Steve is calling on the good will of the Pigeon fancier for assisstance.

Two pigeon charity auctions will take place in the latter end of February, date yet to confirm.  One venue will be Steves homeland of Barnsley, where Steve has already got a host of top fanciers to donate birds ( not louella, they declined, no Christmas card there) from his area.

The secong sale will be held at a venue in Goole itself, more than lightly the Sunday following the saturady sale at Barnsley.

I have today along with Steve contacted many good fanciers from the East Riding area, all of which are willing to donate birds etc. Although were having a good response my knowledge of the fanciers in this area is very limitted, and i was hoping for some assisstance from members on the site, especially from the Hull and surrounding areas inwith donations.

If anybody can help, either pm with details or add your details to the thread.

I will update the thread when a date is set, which will be very shortly. Thanks already to D Hawkins, N addshead, Eddie Wright, Linley & Bond, for your help and assistance thus far, Simon
