i dont know as much about pigeons as most as the guys on here do, but i do know about construction dig down about 24inch, 600mm in modern measurements forming a square hole 12''wide, pour in concrete to fill the hole, and repeat every 6 feet along the length of your loft or approximate measurements to fit the length depending on the width you will want the same approximately 3 feet apart on top of the concrete pads which must be level with each other, build brick pillars 2 bricks wide per course, on top of the brick pillers which want to be approximately 2 or 3 bricks high (depending on the finished height of your loft) place 4x2 tanalised timber to sit your loft floor on...if you can get hold of some cheap railway sleepers use those instead.......... the loft will never move unless you have built on a bog becarefull how you site your loft re your neighbours, some councils insist on planning permission for a pigeon loft kev

this company seem to test for various problems http://www.biobest.co.uk/diagnostics/bird_sexing.html kev -
who would you not buy birds from ? the reasons could include disease ridden flee bitten skinny feather plucked birds who qualify for their bus pass to get a lift home, who only a few days ago wandered about in the local supermarket carpark or just the seller who would sell the latter at top price while reassuring you about the top bird you are purchasing , oh and not forgetting the dazzling false pedigree printed off on an ageing cobweb covered computer Kev

anyone want to answer a few questions for me ? considering a report i read stating that feral pigeons can produce 9 sets of youngsters per year, what is the average for well cared for captive birds what months are considered the breeding season for non race birds which months are the mouting season and how long does it last whats the best ratio of cocks to hens for breeding selection, when space is paramount in the loft thanks Kev

I bought a couple of tickets as I planned to go today but decided to give them away to a neighbour, so i had a good excuse to spend the morning in bed, and by the comments on the other thread i made the right choice kev

whats the difference in size including both male and female between logans - white busserts - dellbars (hope ive spelt the name correct) kev

if your tenancy contract does not mention no pets, and your local council will give you planning permission for a loft (planning isnt required for an avairy) then sadly your landlord will have to agree, until the contract is due for renewal !! kev

don’t take the posts serious, think of them as tongue in cheek answers. I wouldn’t think there is a serial killer reading the forums looking for ideas.... though sometimes it is hard to separate the types of vermin that cause problems. Mice rats cats all bring problems with them
