the way i see it at the prices they pay for pigeons and for the price u receive them at come on lads it a bargain i have seen a few batches of there youngers have to say they were as healthy as one could ask for also remember u could give some pll the fastest pigeons on the planet and they still wouldn't win and i bet there's loads out there winning with there pigeons and putting it down to other pigeons for sales
-
its hard work but im getting to the top hope the same with u in your pigeons and a easier personal life too in 2009
-
i know there's always room for improvement but i think in generell if every pigeon fanicer got a call a hour before the time of delivery box and pigeon in good condition lets give them a half hour delay on time wouldn't be all be happy with this as with costs of transport can we expect a whole lot more at the end of the day the prices are reasonable

best dog for guarding my birds?
just ask me replied to the wee red hens's topic in Lofts, Fixtures & Fittings
theres loads staff x greyhounds around here wouldent hold there own with him loads of mates wont even go out back with him unless i lock him up no pics at the mo but he same as size as a small hound but thicker in the back a lot thicker head his fur just roughened up a bit not smooth like the hound hair stand up on the back of his head at the sight of anyone in the yard belive me hes a right one have had dogs all my life and hes the best by far -
doesent make a diffence its the results that goes under the pic that counts

i have 20 old cocks and breed about 30 to 38 young ones each year that my lot im going along nicelly took out 10 cocks this year to replace them a lot of them had top 10 postions against 1500 to 2000 birds but if i do say so myself my youngones last year were the finest team i bred in a long time i dont bother too much with youngones but am giveing it a serious go this year darkness for the first time for me thers noting like a widdowhood cock when he reallly bonds to his box only back in sport a few year so hopeing this year i should be a lot stronger i hope

the janssens were genius when it came to pigeons and with breeding them were even better three line breeding inbreeding methods were unbelievable i wouldn't advice anyone to try copy it as if u read the the jansen story ive read it a least 5 6 times and every time there's just so much too it everytime i read it the more questions needs to be answered and do i really do think that a lot of fanicers might say that they still have them pure but id bet there were crosses brought in if ure looking for something a bit more simpler old hands book the red one (cant rem name of it) is very good for the basics of breeding some of the racing methods in my opinion might be a little dated in it but the breeding part is good and a bit easier to understand mt advice to all and new starters are crosses that just what i think
