kina agree with bigda but the problem is the midfield partnership everything in football everything nearly starts from there the problem is England don't have a centre midfielder that looks for the ball off the defenders to start a attack Gerrard and lampard do all there best work in the the other half so really what happens is the long ball up to heskey to try knock it on or keep hold of it so many times terry and the rest of the defence had no other choice but to knock it long

mick i sad nearlly the same thing on another thread here the post i put up it looks so obiious what england need to do also think joe cole needs to play simple both gerrard and lampard cant play cenrte midfeild togeather they both want to do the same thing get on the end of things neither wants the ball from the centre defenders or the full backs that why u seen it so many times england knocking the ball long someone like scot parker would have been ideal and play gearrard behind rooney and leave heskey on the bench jmo but there no link man betten defence and the attacking players
