  3. If it was to be a race !!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D it would have to be a super marathon one, :P & some would have to like, a lot of water etc to fly over. If we all were to be eligible. PS I do not have a problem flying each year 200 miles + across water etc ;) . But the above, might just be a touch ;D ;D ;D to far !!!!!!! for me at least, & I like to think. 5. I really don't care where Roland finds them. I just think it's & a pity, that we here are lucky enough, to have read them, & of all those people, who do not have that opportunity like us, to maybe become, that little bit wiser. Enjoy

"Yes", :P I may look & appear silly DOVEScot, to you & others here at times, (I'm not a complete fool though) but the best I will do or say is. Head east young man !!!!!!, but don't try walking. Because you woulb be knackered if you reached my little piece of paradise. Not all that long ago, I passed uncle Ned's cottage ???? (still standing, only just) where he was born & I remember when I used to sit on his knee as a wee lad ;) & he told me about the trouble he was having with you royalist, ;D ;D ;D & that he thought he would get wieghed down in the end (which he did) uncle Ned was a republican in his day I think, with the adventurous spirit that he had, just like me, some would say. PS, Long live the Queen, (she really is a marvel) After that, silly Charles & his little flower Camellia - Camela what ever !!!!! :D take over the top job, all us republican's down here, will be hiding our heads in shame, with those two sitting at the head of the table. Enjoy.

;D "Uncle Ned", of course I do I !!!!!!!. I also know the owner of the motel at Glenrowan, his old stamping ground :D one could say. The whole family were mad pigeon flyers (Geordie lofts, my mate Billy calls himself now) before they all saw the light, years ago & decided they would prefer a bit of sunshine here etc. None of them, miss those occasions in winter, when they had to carry the buckets of hot water, down to the allotments for the poor old birds near thr slag heaps, I can tell you. Great mate Billy, "Typical Pom" for what I see ;D ;D ;D flys a pretty mean 500mile bird, Rang me up on last friday night & said, I'm coming around to get your best race cock, from the season just finished for stock. & he did. Bright & early on saturday. What could I do ?????? I was :-/ but I certainly wasn't going to :K) rest assured. Though I will get him back one day ;D ;D ;D I have no doubt "Big Time". PS Even grampa & grandma are here (smart !!!, saw the light also) for the squeakers of the family. Enjoy

It isn't Hong Kong ;D ;D & I'm bred down from convict stock in my pedigree, :) as they say :D so I'm to intelligent, to be from the other one mentioned above. Enjoy.
  11. Tammy 1, I will finish up with a heart attack etc, I'm ;D & that much here, at this moment. Humour !!!!!!!! it can be deadly at times, one could say. PS, I'm :-/ Maybe it wasn't as I think it appears if it isn't. Enjoy.

"DOVESCOT", WHAT !!!!!! I,m at that sort of price, I will not tell you what I would do with the dog etc ;D ;D ;D Forget the dog issue. 40 kilogram bags/top quality Example peas $27 milo $20 wheat $24 corn $20 PS. Long way to go, before it reaches 100 pound a bag, & I will be dead by then. :D Enjoy
  13. The Fifer, :D it's than long since I last used that remedy I had completly forgotten about it, the mix/potion was that strong at the time ;D ;D ;D (black as a coal mine) you could say, & I do not think at the time, we would have won any kudos from the poor little buggers, that we were trying to help. Shocking, :P When one thinks about some of the things, we have attempted to do in the past. :X :X :X To help our little mates survive (worse than death I'm afraid for some, unfortunatly). :( . Enjoy.
  14. Jimmy, I remember those days like it was yesterday. When I first met my wife (she who must be obeyed) :P she was a phonogram operator, as they were called here, did it for eight years & loved her job till we where married etc. Keeps telling me I'm hopeless (god bless her sole) ;D ;D ;D when I put pen to paper, because of her skills in the area that she worked. PS. You can only do the best with what god gave you, as they say. ;D ;D ;D & it seems to her I was one of the unfortunate ones. Enjoy.
  15. Potassium Permanganate (condies crystals as I like to call it). For anyone fortunate enough to read the book about pigeons by Levi, 1st printed over 50 odd years ago, & still available in certain areas today. It was one of his recommendations for the treatment of canker, along with Bicarbonate of Soda & Hydrochloric Acid (spirits of salts) being an ex plumber, I certainly know what that smells like when it gets up your nose etc, but they all form part of my medicine cabinet you could say, & have done so for many years. Cheap & nasty some here may say, & out of date (maybe) but if used in the proper manner all can be of a benefit to the birds at times. At least in my opinion, "but then" ;D ;D ;D I'm only a novice at this game, compared to some here. PS. Robert Stroud (Birdman of Alcatraz) he also had some interesting tonics/medication, when he wrote about the problems & treatments of birds one could say too. Enjoy.
  16. "Karl." If that is the situation you have in your club/federation etc, I'm quite astonished at the intelligence of the people behind that sort of decision making excise. "Extraordinary", what sort of thinking went into reaching a conclusion like that, "Quite amazing" they certainly wouldn't get away with it in my local club/federation etc & niether should they where you fly. Democracy/Common Sense. It may well help these people that reach this sort of conclusion, to look these two words up in the dictionary, though I doubt whether they could find them. Enjoy.
  17. As a bit of an outsider here, ;) I've read many posts on this issue on different sites etc, & no offence to anyone. But I find it quite amusing in it's own funny way. When one looks at the sport in general, none of us here where ever we live, play on a level playing field you could say. "Example" wind, distance, money, position, weather short versus long, the list goes on on, & as many I know here are dead set against the electronic timing system's, they are just part of the future & for the many flyers that are excepting them for what they are, they see it as a natural advancement for the sport. "Good or bad," only time will tell. Just think back in time, before trains, planes & transporters as an example as they are today etc, in our sport to what they were. In most situations, at all levels of change/advancement there has always been friction between different groups, depending on which side one wishes to sit. Myself, I fly in a club, which is half & half & even in the centre that I fly in which is the same, not at any time have I ever heard, or seen any friction between between the haves & the have not's as I put it. We just get on & enjoy the sport for what it is. A TERRIFIC SPORT/HOBBY (we won't debate that issue now) there are far to many other things/issues to worry about in the world we live today. I've only ever used one clock in 50 years of flying, & with a bit of luck I might get another 50 years out of it, but rest assured what ever the future holds an EC will never stop me from shaking the winners hand on race day, even if there is an advantage to those that use them, as small as it is when you really think about it. Enjoy.
  18. George UK. The real name is Potassium Permanganate, & I have just come in from the stock loft, before coming online here, where I had changed the water & used some in the drink for the birds etc. Out of favour now in most lofts, more expensive medication is preferred (don't ask me why) I've used it for many years & I always will (bought it in bulk last purchase I had), because the goverment placed it on the banned list, "Terrorists/Explosives," they told everyone. Load of crap in my opinion, for us pigeon flyers. As a demolition expert, :X :X :X compliments of the Goverment (2 years) many years ago, you would find more dangerous items under most peoples sink's etc, or in their laundry cupboard in my few. Enjoy.
  19. "J Bamling". Your loft is a credit to you, with those petron boxes etc. Looks terrific & many of us here I suspect, would love to have such a set up, (Oh to dream about such things). "Deep litter" I have tried to make it work in my lofts, a couple of times over the years, (to much dust for me) & being an asthmatic etc does not help my case, but I know of some very good flyers that have it in their lofts, & fly top pigeons on their day. so it definately can work in most climates, under the right conditions. Enjoy.
  20. "Bully" I can do better than Dogeon's kind offer above, as good as it is. I will even lend you some of my Wildemeersh strain etc. May be a bit awkward though, unless you enjoy a long boat trip (you would have to pick them up) ;D ;D ;D. It's terrible, how we take the micky out of each other here, but it's sure great fun etc. Being xmas, pity I can't put them in the post. Special discount on stamps save a fortune. Bully, all jokes aside. I do hope someone more local than I'm, can give you a nice xmas present to help you out. Enjoy.
  21. "EAGLEOWL". Nice bike etc, ;) must be one big happy family at your place, from where I sit here & imagine all things bright & beautiful as they say ;D ;D ;D. "Dogeon" if you are not having any success with what you are using for the rats etc. Try the anti freeze like Roland suggests, & it's also cheap. I've been using it for years but I just soak bread in it & throw it under the lofts where no other animals or birds can get at it etc. PS, give it a few days between each baiting to allow it to do its business. Enjoy.

Shadow, :D it was meant to be a bit of fun. Sorry you did not catch on to my humour. Enjoy.

    3 strays

Following on from Ckickadee's comments, ;D ;D ;D, why don't we auction them off :P here. Could be stock potential, for someone's loft in the future. Stranger things have happened in this caper, as many of us know if we think back in time etc. PS, my apologies to the owners of the above birds, (they deserve better) they are more than likely better than most of mine. :D Enjoy.

    winning hen

Tskyes, half your luck, I hope you succeed ;D ;D ;D. Because that's what most of us are looking for, most of the time ;) . Especially if one is chasing proven distance birds like me etc, that have flown the distance (500/600miles) & not just on paper, like most of them in my area are.
  25. Hard question to answer this one, ;D ;D ;D. still trying to figure it out, (I'm not to bright) some could say. Maybe one day I will find the answer ?, who knows :) . Novice of 51 years, most of those years spent escaping from the missis (She who must be obeyed) : : : down to the loft in the back yard etc. One thing I do know, is that the younger generation of today in most cases, in the society we live, will never know what they are missing out on. Unfortunately for them.
