  1. what about canary eggs, after each egg is laid they are taken out of the nest and placed in a drawer and pot eggs are put under the hen until she layers her cluch after five days the pot eggs are replaced with the eggs from the drawer and i know myself when i was putting the eggs back under her they were icy cold, the idea is to try and get all young birds to hatch at the same time once the eggs are put under the hen they hatch in thirteen days billy ;D ;D ;D ;D
  2. good luck carl not belong before they take off my first has just hatched today billy
  3. sorry to hear about your problem vic,had the same problem last year,in the stock loft and in the old bird racing end,we took birds for testing the ones that were ill testing never found worms,no cocidiosis, tested up the back end the lad testing them was baffled, thought it might have been vermin getting in.two that was tested died the next day.befor they were dying they were just lying on there front and they were rocking back and forward,i wrung the lad up who had tested them and he told me when they are doing that the liver is enlarged, and thats what was causing them to rock.also before dying there were yellow slime coming from the back end.we were left with 3 birds in the stock loft and five in the old bird racing end,my partner and i were frightened to go down the garden didnt know how many we were going to find dead the next day.then all of a sudden the birds that were left seam to put them selves right.i went over one day and my mate said smell that corn in the bin and it stunk ,the corn was taken back,a council worker took a sample away she said ile try to find the problem with the corn she came back next day and said cant do nothing about it as pigeons are classed as a wild bird,to finish off the stock birds and old bird races were fed on one corn and young bird endwhich is on the left of the races, and to the right of the races were young stock bought in for breeding, there wasnt one bird died in either end of the races,so we put all this down to corn i think was contaminated with spors.hope you can understand as ive put it to the best of my ability billy
  4. i think softmilk starts at about 10 days so if you put eggs under the pair sitting 11 or 12 days ready to hatch they should be okay because once the milk sack has brocken the soft milk will keep on coming, ive done this myself and it works billy
