i think amtrak are laxadaisy at times loads of times they come for pick up and have no boxes,i bought pigeons last year the youngsters were in a basket, they took the basket to headquarters and brought his basket back the next day.i hate getting birds brought in the boxes when theres nothing in the bottom no shavings or no straw theres nothing worse because the poor bloody things tails thick of sh-- and wings when they have been lying down on top of the crap its worse still when they send a four bird box with two birds in and nothing on the floor theres sh-- every ware.its just a point that i thought i would bring up,anybody else had this problem all for the sake of a few coppers or should i say pence. billy

well said crispian i think its a good idea, but its getting someone who is willing to do it,good luck billy

there are loads of different theories how pigeon home but the son must have a lot to do with it,pigeons wont clear if it is overcast with no sun you would have massive gaps racing in those conditions.one time experimenting with pigeons,it was a sunny day and they liberated them in the middle of the sea they would not clear the reason being they were confused because the could see the reflection of the sun in the water.i saw this quite a few years ago. billy :-/ : ;D
