  1. For whatever reason the site software is sending the PM's to paula instead of yourself. Below is an extract of the PM Hi Paul Welcome to the Site. Firstly i apolygise for the posting of High speed loft his behaviour on the thread is unwarranted. - 99.9% of Site members will help you as much as they can in a variety of different way. With regards to your son, i was 13 when i first got interested in pigeons (via accident) i kept budgies etc. Im now approaching 25 and still in the sport although it hasnt all been plain sailing if you can give your boy a chance with a couple in a rabbit hutch then you maybe suprised - The pigeons kept me from street corners drinking and smoking so they helped me in that sense also. I kept a pair of birds in a rabbit hutch last year although the hutch is no longer used i put wooden grills in it for cleaniness etc and it worked well however advise to keep it safe from cats or only let them out when present or at least around the home. Not excactly sure where you are located but you are welcome to the hutch, equipment and also as an alternative to fantails a couple of Fancy Roller pigeons i have only today been gifted by a member of the site. Kind regards, Chris
  2. There wont be as sent it to the wrong person - I do feel this is a forum error though - Copy Of PM's sent Hi puresoontjen July 9, 2009, 11:39pm HI paula July 9, 2009, 11:08pm Hi the fifer July 9, 2009, 10:44pm Trying again now
  3. You are suggesting someone who doesnt want a shed in there garden at present turn the top of there house into a pigeon coop. At very least try and give the bloke some sensible advice within the boundaries he has set his son - Maybe then we can gain a full family that appreciate pigeons as something other than what most think of them and also prove that we are a helpful bunch rather than P*** takers!!!
  4. Please keep this topic sensible or step away from it and leave those that genuinely want to help to do so.
  5. Sent you a PM Paul - They are located on the top right hand side of your screen.
  6. Thanks IB - Planned to reply i am looking through the laws regarding the issue (english) I am going to present my argument to the guy who refused the application again and if he doesnt listen i will contact Ronald and go from there.
  7. No mate gone way to far for that
  8. Well done Jimmy Great chap have to agree Blaz and very good with the advice.
  9. Thank you Will copy and paste this to a word document and print off.
  10. I will speak with Alf tomorrow - Known him via Geoff Clare since i was about 13 and also bought two corkers off him via Jakjaks club sale this year
  11. No point mate i had one until the ARU took it away yesterday >
  12. Think its all gone a little too far for talking Phil, once i go out they seem to shoot back in the house - Even quicker today when they opened there door and see Steve in my garden as he is built like a brick *s--- house ;D 8)
  13. It is basically a council house although they were handed over to an association. I have permission for the 18ft loft i currently have up but applied to dismantle the 18ft and replace it with a 40ft. At the shortest length of my back garden it is approx 110ft long and 34ft wide. With regards to proving the droppings it feels in this case that i have to prove my innocence and not them prove my guilt i will continue to argue the case and will photograph every bit of cat **** on the garden and log it accordingly. IB - Know you are up on this sort of thing what is the law to your knowledge on cats being on neighbours gardens please
  14. Thanks Roland I like the advice but im not dealing with neighbours with principles or anything else for that matter other than a camera and a phone and a eagerness to use both for the most stupid things. The biggest shock they are in for is the fact they are complaining non stop about my little dog also - Big shock as if i rehome her im going to collect Blythys or similar!!!!
  15. Thanks guys i am going to digest all the advice given and see what i come up with to deal with them. Thanks for the sh**ting on there garden advice Blythy and whilst it sounds ideal to me i do prefer Paul Stokes idea just slightly more.
  16. Birds dont sit in the trees at all - I offered to let them out in front of the bloke but he wouldnt have it. I will keep arguing but did think proof that the sh** was from such as a blackbird etc would help my fight.
  17. Its the new one mate, however looking to go view and new place later this week
  18. Im actually looking to test the s--- that is on the neighbours paddling pool as to my mind this is what should be tested. Really annoyed about it all - The cat s--- on my garden though never bothered the bloke!!!
  19. Basically as some know im having a pig of a time with the neighbours - They have a paddling pool under a planted area (high trees) this weekend has been a mare due to my retaliation but now my application for the loft has been declined on the basis of my pigeon shiitting on there paddling pool. As said the area is under heavy greenery but these people dont see sensible reason so i am willing to have pay for this to be tested to prove it wasnt the pigeons. What a reason to decline though.
  20. I presume it is possible to have bird droppings analysed and as such they can be confirmed to be a pigeon's?? Am i correct in this assumption?
  21. Each club is approx £50-£60 per season, and as said previously most of birdage goes to Federation. - I dont really want to comment on the Fed secretary as if something doesnt toe the line it seems to end up in front of the President.
  22. Dont let it put you off, My figures are prob inflated slighlty to budget for feeding a bag of corn a week as well as obviously sending 18 obs and 30 ybs to all club racing - Which we have already concluded is overpriced compared to others. As well as that my club fees are for approx 5 clubs including 2 x classic clubs - There is no reason to be in them - I only send in one of the 5 clubs but reluctant to give up membership of the others. Pigeons can maybe be as expensive or near enough as cheap as you want them to be - If you (as i do) only have limited spare finances set a budget and stick to it as best you can - Plus if you budget what you would spend racing each week all year round you can build a nice little kitty up over the winter months.
  23. I think it prob would have been in ours but a large portion of that 80p goes to the fed (Very resentfully on my part)
  24. Yes thats what we pay in our club
  25. I have got so far Club membership Fees = £200 Corn = £600 Medication/ products = £150 Entry fees Old birds - Based on 18 birds per week = £201.80 (80p per bird) not including National racing Entry fees Young birds based on 30 birds per week = £168 (80p per bird) not including National racing YB rings = £10.50 Training = £400 Total annual figures estimated = £1332.30 One of purchases Clock - T3 (ebay) = £100 Loft = £600 Fittings = £150 (Self built) Drinkers/pots etc - £40 Grand total = £2222.30 Obviously just estimates as sure they cost alot more than that.
