  1. A block of racing widowhood hen boxes required to house 20 birds. Preferably with sloping perches & I'd rather have dowell doors. I propose to feed & water them outside the boxes. I'm in the Midlands
  2. Holmsidelofts - Think its Norofloxin which is an antibiotic! It should not be available "over the counter"! Advertised in the BHW but comes in from Holland - I believe to exploit a "loophole".
  3. Gareth, you are right that De Weerd does not recommend vaccination, although elsewhere on his web site he seems to recommend a "blind" treatment with Parastop (antibiotic) This conflicting advice from the best Belgian vets is very confusing. Dr Vandersanden does recommend vaccination after tests to determine whether or not a treatment is required beforehand. (Its not easy to get suitable/reliable tests done in this country) I went to a moot last week, & Jos Thone says he does vaccinate for Paratyphoid & vaccinates his youngsters TWICE for Paramyxo - once after weening & I think he said again after 4 weeks.
  4. Sheasby & Watson of Lichfield. 34 X 1sts this year including 1st 2nd & 4th in North Mids Continental Club.
  5. No relation but does race in same club as me. Drop me a PM.

    John Harwood.

Guys, you've got to get your facts right before "slagging people off" & posting negative comments. John Harwood writes a highly entertaining column in the weeklies, the likes of which most "contributers" on here could not replicate. I suspect it is John Henwood from the West Mids that imports the Heesters pigeons. John is an honest guy trying to make an honest buck with some pretty decent pigeons - Klak based, & judging by responses to adverts for Klak pigeons on this site & others, people seem to prefer John H's. Lets look for positives rather than negatives for a change!
  7. Try Brian Stone at Belper. See last few weeks BHW for contact details.
  8. I think you might try a charcoal tablet - available from health food shops.
  9. Ben, Terry is unbelievably generous with pigeons & pigeon related knowledge. I know he's helped me a great deal in the last 12M. Also, have you not seen a list of his combine positions? If ever I get close to being as successful ......... If he decides to go South road in a fully committed way, then watch out!!!
  10. Sorry, meant to say I'm Chris Woolley
  11. If you mean Jimmy Woolley & Son Danny, then they're in Shenstone Nr Sutton Coldfield. As Mike says I'm in Lichfield. Send PM if I can help.
  12. One of only 2 products I wouldn't be without. Last drink before they go & first when they get back. Needs to be used in conjunction with other Norban products tho'. Refer to John at Norban.

    selling up

Mr & Mrs Goff Lycett of Lichfield race 400 yards up the road from me. They have never announced an intention to give up racing or their birds. They are not related to or connected with Mr & Mrs Ken & Cath Lycett & Mike of Rugeley other than being good friends. Lets have the facts straight here!!!!
  14. Treat yourself to Bullguard. About £20 from retail outlets for 1 yr. Norton Antivirus no use!
  15. I'll have a go please Stuart. Regards Chris Woolley
  16. Alan Maull in South Wales has some nice ones I believe. Think he may be member on this site or one of the others. Could be wrong but I think he's "Alan"
  17. Sorry for my ignorance but have never heard of Hongerloots before. Could you give some background info. please?
  18. John Stretton from Burton On Trent? Used to own well known pigeon called Superstud.
  19. Sorry - didn't make it clear, but just bought & collected them!
  20. Nice pair of youngsters & considering the parents cost you a fortune, they are terrific value for money. Thanks again.
  21. How do you experts go about this? Do you just open spare boxes & move young cocks in with old birds? - Or do you take old birds out & shut their boxes? What do you do if one young cock takes 2 boxes? Do you move more young cocks in than spare boxes so they have to "battle it out" for a box? Help required please
