Cheers Guys. Peckedhen: That's great, I had already been advised to cut back the food, but my birds have never been that hungry, I'l give it a try! Tariq.
-
Look at this I built, I havn't got any close ups at the moment, but here's a picture I just took from my bedroom window. It looks like a pile of rubbish, but you know what, I think it works! My pigeons should be comming in soon They don't come in straight away and this is something I need to work on when I finally get some young birds. Tariq.

They look fab! I can't wait to get some young birds of my own and start training them!

They look great

Hi Chickadee, they've been out since the 23rd. The first pair of pigeons I had and broke were both very strong on the wing the first time they were released, however came back after 2 days. This Pair though I get the feeling won't be back, they were really flighty birds. Tariq.

I do voluntary work at an animal sanctuary on a sunday and they have aviaries and educate the public about keeping birds. I'l probably take them there
-
Yeh I'l maybe put some bobwires at the bottom of the open window, the rest will be meshed. I'l also sort out a landing board which I can put up when necessary.
-
Gosh another ring and free that's great! Thanks so much Jason. If someone else really wants to enter though I won't be offended if you sell it to them? Whatever, I'v got your address now and I'v made a reminder to send you your money A.S.A.P. I think this is a great idea by the way ;D Tariq.

Nah, bird sales are getting fewer and fewer with so much pressure from the "antis". I'l find somewhere for them, don't worry
-
True, but on the other hand I wouldn't want the remainder of the team to fly out willy nilly. Tariq.

Good point white rapido man, I'v got two ideas, because my parents don't want a spoutnik or trap on the outside of the garage. I can either fly them through the window directly into their section or I can fly them in through the window next to their section and put a trap on the section right by the window so they fly through the window, onto the landing board and into the section. I was thinking the 2nd option as I only want to fly half of the young birds each week and an open window would mean they'd all get out. Tariq. Ps - Thanks Smudger Pete and Albear

Could you put me down for 1 ring and PM me with payment details (when you want to start accepting money and the address to send it to ). Regards Tariq.

I bought them as a pair and am pretty sure it's a cock, when you compare the two birds he has a much fatter/long/round head than the hen who has a very slender head. He also makes much more noise and courts her. I will let nature take its course, I'm sure there'll be more eggs to come. Its probably down to inexperience. Regards Tariq.

Indeed. Cheers Wayne. Tariq.

The pair are 07, I think about 7 months old. This is the first time either have attempted breeding. They were not seperated prior to pairing, I bought them as a pair and havn't had them very long. They are very very keen to each other however and have definately paired up. Tariq.

I have left the lights on till 19:30 today, just been in and the cock is still on the eggs. I'l just have to wait and see what happens I guess...
-
Thanks Andy 8) Actually I built the young bird section myself a while ago. Cost me £50 to make. Tariq.

Its ok, I'd rather keep them than give them away, they're nice birds. If anyone is interested get in touch

Hi Guys As some of you may know, I'm a 16 year old young fancier that is hoping to start racing in 2008 with young birds. I have very kindly been offered some free young birds from some members of this forum and I will hopefully hatch some from my 2 pairs of stock pigeons. After reading into the various strains available and keeping a pair of busschaerts myself, I have decided that the Busschaert is my favourite strain and I would like it to dominate my loft. I have a limited amount of Christmas money left and would like to invest in some birds, if anyone can part with 4-6 2008 young busschaerts complete with pedigrees to get me started next year, that would be fab! PM me if you like, they must however be within a young fanciers budget. I'm also looking for a Delbar Hen, an 06 or 07 would be fine, to go with Delbar cock in the future, preferably with a pedigree, so let me know if you have one of them. Regards Tariq

You're right there Dovescot, that guy is probably the guy I bought them off

I think selling these on here is probably a long shot, as they aren't the kind of birds that will be able to be sent by Amtrak. I am based in S.Wales (Newport, though close to Cardiff) and have the following pair of Barbary Doves for sale, Consisting of an Orange Hen and Spangled Cock. These Birds have a shocking Homing Instinct and are kept in cages/aviaries on their own or with other aviary birds for ornamental purposes. They are like the wild Collared Doves. Looking for £25 the pair, which is what I paid for them. Selling due to space and money needed for Racing Pigeons.

Hello. I thought I'd take advantage of some photos I recently took, to post an update on how things are going. I made my first mistake as a new fancier recently. I was very kindly provided with 3 latebred birds from Paul (Invincible Spirit) from these forums. The birds were very nice, however were quite flighty. Although they were meant to be stock pigeons, I thought I'd try 1 pair and let them fly around the house after 3 weeks and unfortunately, the birds took off and I don't think I will ever see them again. It has taught me that not all pigeons break as easily as the first pair of busschaerts, which stayed when I let them out after owning them for 3 weeks and trapped back in. I have also got my young bird section ready. It's in the garage, right by the garage window (for trapping purposes) and has 10 white plastic "V" Perches aswell as three long flat beams of wood for perches. I hope to race about 15 young birds to it in 2008. Finally, out of the 4 stock pigeons that I own, the pair of busschaerts are on eggs, though only the cock is incubating them, I'v posted a thread to ask about this issue seperately. The 2nd pair of pigeons, which consist of my blue wf Delbar Cock and Mealy hen from Paul (Invincible Spirit) are starting to pair up. People may find this thread boring, never mind ;D Regards Tariq.

I'l just mention that my name is Tariq, I have two pairs of stock pigeons and am hoping to start racing in 2008 with young birds. Here's my question. My pair of busschaerts have had eggs for a number of days now, however only the cock is incubating. I have been in at several times during the night and the day over the few days that the eggs have existed and he's constantly on them, the hen isn't doing any incubation at all - I'm sure of it. Has anyone got any experience with this? What causes it? Are the eggs likely to hatch? Regards Tariq.

They cost about £45 each ( for 1 double) delivered.

Cheers Ben. We'll keep in touch next year
