  1. Just wondered if there were anyone who flys Tipplers or Rollers in the Blyth Northumberland area?
  2. Nice birds mate, been up your neck of the woods for the last few weeks on a course, it pains me paying for the tunnel.
  3. I've not been on here for a while, but I'll be available from mid july onwards if anyone has anything needing delivering between Blyth and Barrow in Furness.
  4. Cheers mate, because I work in Barrow during the week and go home to Northumberland at weekends theres no chance I could have my own loft, not for a few years yet anyway. Wouldn't mind helping out with the cleaning and driving birds during the week though, best not to offer my services at the weekends, quality family time.
  5. Not been on for a long time as I've been away, but I'm now working in Barrow in Furness if thats any good to any one. I would also be keen to help around any lofts in Ulverston or Barrow if any one fancies some free labour, well for the cost of your experiance.
  6. Don't worry I'll not be moving onto anyone's turf. YET!
  7. To be honost I knew there was a long waiting list which is why I stuck my name down now. I've got just under 4 years left to do in the RN so if they offered me one tomorrow it would be no good. Plus I've got 4 years to work on the missus, I've got a spot in my garden I've got my eye on. Maybe drop it in conversation with the neighbours to see what they would make of a loft in my garden and be extra nice to the wife. Just trying to cover all bases for now, as it is I'm based up in Faslane in Helensburgh, which is where I spend most of my time.
  8. Hope you get the rest back mate.

    Allotment

Joined the waiting list for an allotment in Blyth today, just 100 people on the list in front of me, the guy at the top has been waiting for 6 years. Should be half way up the list by the time I leave the RN!

    6 Racers

Very kind offer, can't believe no one has taken you up, if I was in a position to do so I would take you hand off (so to speak).
  11. I'd also like to offer my time as a loft hand, if anyone in the Helensburgh area is after someone to do a bit of scraping and have a chat with, I'm your man. As I mentioned in my introduction thread I'm not in a position to have any birds myself yet, and as such I've got no experience, but I'm keen and got plenty of time on my hands during the week after work. Plus I would be able to release the birds at whatever distance on my way home to Blyth on a thursday/friday.
  12. I go up the A69 onto the M74, so I'm only a few mile away from Carlisle, theres a service station a couple of miles south of the junction onto the M74 if thats any good. I'll be going south this thursday or friday and going back up 2 weeks after that (well deserved break).
  13. As title says, I drive between Blyth Northumberland and Helensburgh Dunbartonshire most weekends and I'm happy to drop any birds/equipment on route. Nothing too big as I only drive a Ford Ka, yes I know it's a womans car but needs must! PM me if I can be of any service.
  14. Thanks for the warm welcome guys, CLOUD9 thats a very kind offer, I'm afraid I won't be in a position to take you up on it for a few years yet though.
  15. To be honost I haven't got the time on a weekend, not sure if there is a helensburgh club yet and if they meet during the week or whether it's a weekend thing. I'm guessing most clubs meet on a weekend, ultimately I want to join a club in Blyth. Thanks for your advice, I'll look into the Helensburgh club for the meantime though.
  16. Hello, I've just joined and wanted to introduce myself. I've signed up to try to get as much information about pigeon racing as I can. I'm very keen but due to being in the forces I won't be in a position to keep any birds until I leave in 4 years, so I've got plenty of time to learn the basics. I spend my week days in Helensburgh up in Scotland and my weekends (where possible)in Blyth with the missus and kids. Cheers gurnster75
