YOU CAN BREAK SOME BUT OTHERS JUST DON'T SETTLE..PAIR THEM UP BEFORE YOU LET THEM OUT,,IT HELPS THEM BOND WITH THEIR NEW HOME.... SOME MATE UP IN DECEMBER, SOME JAN , SOME FEB,,,,DON'T REALLY MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE...WE BRED THIS YEAR LATE JAN AND HAD A FANTASTIC SEASON,,,BUT HAVE HAD GOOD ONES MATING IN DEC,,,,SO DO WHAT EVER IS EASIEST FORYOU..ALSO THE WEATHER PLAYS A BIG PART IN MATING UP... GOODLUCK ANTHONY

van reets by far,,,but we bought a pair from a fancier in holland 2 years ago,,,decker is his name...everything they breed wins and we never lose the young ones...they turned out to be two hens....so I think some more of these will be on their way..he won the bordaux national when we were there 2 years ago..so they are winning for him...
-
the best food is given,,but taken away after they have eaten,,no food is ever left in the loft except when they are supposed to feed.....they get what they want but must do the work....our birds have done very well for the past decade but our new feeding system has pushed them nearer the top for the last 2 years....they eat when we want them to eat and not any other time....always clean water..very important....
-

-
we do rotate some pair but there a small amount of about 10 pairs that are let loose in a loft and they pair to whatever they want,,,they have paird the same for the last two years with very good results....so nothing changing there...but older stock birds will get a younger partner...they say that 80% of winners are bred from birds 4 years and younger......or the combined age should be under 8 years of age....we got some 11 year olds still breeding winners every year,,,luck I call it when pairing.....
-
paul ours went at 7.45....birds doing 1402 ypm....100% returns...roll on lillers.....
-
we bred some latebreds for back up..we trained them up and we jumped them into the race last week....86 miles,,they were 1,2,3,4,,,,,how the hell they done it I don't know,,but very impressed with them,,,,looking good in the fed also...see how they do for next year....
-
paul i think that ray williams has a personal agenda with the people in the national....I was told the birds were watered before going and then on arrival in frome,,,,,sealed baskets is another thing....
-
I feel for you dean,,,,I think there are a small close knit base of fanciers in the combine that decide things,,,,I think there are some of our fed in it,,thats why we know things early...and every rumour I hear is normally right...I have heard that we are not going to lillers and ramsgate is now on...but its only a rumour,,but they normally come true.....I feel that every fed in the combine should have 2 or 3 people who call the combine shots....and nothing is decided within closed doors......If it carries on there will be no combine to talk of....without the feds the combine are nothing so they should treat everyone the same and ask what they want before changing things..... goodluck everyone sending to lillers ( ramsgate)...weather looking bad at the moment.... anthony

dean my point is if the geraldy is state of the art how can a plastic board slip and birds get out,,,I also heard that birds escaped in maidstone but I heard the geraldy was to blame again........I also heard that one side of a transporter was not cut at rams and went a few mins after the main bunch....I only report on fact ,,mark from ramsgate saw the lib and reported back to me,,,who saw the maidstone lib???Well we will see next year when the wnr leave the combine or get forced out....remember boys its run by us all and not the wnr...remember the north road years ago...I do...
