paul ,, birds escaped from the geraldy last week,,maybe this had some influence....I have heard this isn't the first time,,,new transporter and the only one where the birds are escaping.....also I have heard that the race might be off...this is only rumours.....

we had a young bird with something like that on its head....we put TCP on it and it came right after 2 weeks....but if your worried take to a pigeon vet,,,,I would isolate for a week,,just to be safe...

this is the report from the person who attended the lib,,,,this was posted on pigeon-chat at 8.59 this morning.. "the birds were liberated at 8.20 and not 8.30 as planned... 8 birds escaped from the geraldy transporter so all birds were released a.s.a.p luckily the 8 were still flying round and joined into the main batch.the birds cleared the site really well.weather was hazy and a light n.w wind.good luck to you all" make of it what you will......

we used to have long tailed tits ,but not seen any this year...do they migrate...

we have jays and great spotted woodpeckers ,,first time for many years...also green finches and bullfinch.....but the small ones are getting less every year...

awful race for some,,,,we have had 27 from 32 now,,2 come today....all our fancied birds were late and our big pooler is not home,,,,its had 4th fed and 5th fed this year already....roll on next week,,,,start again......

the welsh birds have had a hard one today from maidstone,,we have had 20 from 30 ,,,some are 2 from 20....

read the book the flying vets,,,,it will open your eyes to pigeon racing and how they build their immune system up...but they treat regularly and test regularly,,,,read east to west it will telll you how he treats his birds regularly...building up their imunity is one thing but all this stress from young bird racing brings on all manor of new strains of disease......what are the results like of the non treaters....goodluck to all ....

we have a cock bird that topped the fed as a young bird and as a yearling and as a 2 year old. but you must race your young birds to educatate them for their old bird life.....if they win its a bonus,but doesn't make them a good old bird....

we had a sticky race from swindon yesterday (tues) libed at 2.00pm....south west wales fed.....we were 13 down on the night...

we believe that people wouldn't sell birds that are breeding winners,,most of the stock birds for sale are birds that have not produced the goods,,,we only buy in young birds and also sell young birds only.....entire clearance sales are a different thing......if our stock doesn't breed the goods after 3 years they go to no one,,,,alot of people are selling birds on other peoples performances , , , if they are not winning for you tell the buyers....goodluck to all buying birds at the end of the season,,,,lottery,,,

take drinker out at 12noon and give some hemp and rape seed 1 hour before basketing...put the drinker back in and they will drink well before going to the race....hope this helps.......my bed time now,,night all
