  1. A very good advice. A very good advice i can give you is that you should work out a system that fits your schedule and stick to it no matter what, if the results are not coming and you decide to change systems it will only make things worse.
  2. Well yes agree with you there, i guess the belgians were trying to translate themselfs.
  3. 101 methods by Jules Gallez, yes maybe a bit old but what i like about it is that you find very much common sense in it, cheap and simple ways to improve yourself as a fancier and cheap and simple ways to improve your birds health etc.
  4. I recommend the videos by Jim Jenner (Paccom Films) and just work out a plan to start promoting the sport to young people. Take a look at the Paccom films website http://www.paccomfilms.com/ For an example fanciers could take these videos to schools and show them to kids and bring along a few birds. 5. I visited John and Alex last spring and thought thier birds were really good and i´m really happy with the birds i got from that visit, they also told me something about Roland which led me to believe that even though he sold some very good birds to Louella he still would have plenty of birds of the same quality or even better in his own loft. I saw the article on Louella website were they made some comments they shouldn´t have because as you say there is no real need for it.
  6. Seems to me that Gryze Raket was one hell of a breeder
  7. I don´t excactly know what you mean i would just say it was a white grizzle but you can have a look on louella if you haven´t seen a pic of the bird, super kweeker 12 is there at the top http://www.louella.co.uk/view_champ.php?fid=22

    Pigeon Age

A fellow fancier had a bird born in 1991 race very well in ´92, ´93 and ´94 but this bird then became 1st ace of Iceland in ´95 and after that was retired to stock loft but i´m sure he had 1 or 2 good racing years left in him. But i guess it all depends on the bird, you just have to keep a close eye on them and eveluate every bird as an individual and not look at the whole loft and retire every bird at say 4 years.

    janssens

They really look and handle good but what i noticed first about them was the great character and how they seem to be naturally tame.

I actually just got 6 eggs and got 5 youngsters out of them which were all white grizzle, i thought the prices for the eggs were very reasonable.

  13. I can´t find any JUNIOR T3 for sale on ebay
  14. I´m looking for a secondhand junior t3 clock for a new starter here in Iceland, will look at any offer, and he will of course pay for the shipping to Iceland.
  15. Does anyone have or know where to find the excel sheet for calculating days from pairing till hatching and so on? I remember seeing it somewhere on the internet but can´t seem to find it now
  16. Well i just use a diary to write what i think is important, feeding, training, the weather and everything really, then i use these pairing sheets from pigeonbasics, http://www.pigeonbasics.com/articles/paircard.html Then i use the winter to sort everything out.

    Vitamin E

Thanks for that Mark, do you know anything about how much is ok as vitamin-e is not a water soluable vitamin. And what is it about the blue smarties, can anyone explain please.

    Vitamin E

I have read that vitamin-e can keep older birds fertile for 1 or 2 more years, i have a cock born in 1998 (the father of my family) and i would love to get some more youngsters from him in the coming season, this year he only filled 1/3 of his eggs. So anyone tried it and what was the result? And how much and how often should i feed it?

    NEST MATES

One hen i´ve got has an average of 1 cock out of every 6 youngsters, doesn´t matter wich cock i pair to her, been that way for years with her. ??????
  22. I got some Roland Janssens birds from John and Alex Mellor last spring and will be trying them for breeding next season, but what i´ve seen so far from them is that they are great charachters and look and feel great so i´m very excited to see and try thier young in the races next summer.
  23. I have to agree with this, find a system that fits you and stick to it, in my first racing season back in 1995 i did very well on the first race but on the second one not so well, then i decided to change my system to get better results but only got worse, my biggest mistake. And don´t get fooled by the ads stating you will only win if you use this or that.

    WHAT BREED

I´m sorry but i have to agree with Homer
  25. Here is a website i´ve found very helpful if i suspect there is something wrong with my birds http://www.chevita.com/en/pigeons/symptoms/index.php And by the way i think you should not medicate your birds unless there is something wrong cause if you medicate healthy birds you are weakening thier immune system
