I can not believe that in the year 2009 this is still being talked about, i would have thought pigeon people would be grown out of this by now.The best advice i have ever given young pigeon fanciers is not to pay any attention to this THEORY

Just wanted to know if members let thier birds out to train when raining, why or why not.

Don´t treat them if there is nothing wrong, however if you suspect anything might be wrong contact a vet and then follow his advice.

I totally agree, when i started using Sedochol i could feel and see a difference.

I use a mask and a hat most of the time, the mask for myself and the hat for the family.

I never clean the drinkers, i never have sick birds, i clean the lofts as little as i get away with, not because i don´t want to or don´t have the time, but because it is of no benefit to the birds to clean to much, again i never have sick birds, i never medicate against anything. If there is much dampness i will of course clean because then it is of benefit to my birds.

What happened to getting your birds in top form the old way, and i don´t care if it is legal at the moment, it´s unethical to me. It´s this sort of things that are killing our great sport!!!!!!!

I have noticed on some threads on this forum and on other forums that fanciers seem to clean thier lofts way to much, drinkers are cleaned regularly and so on. I´ve also asked around and found the same pattern. So i ask what do you do? And more important, why do you do it?

Just wanted to ask why you would do that, clean the drinkers every day?

Good point about finding the bird dead, but i don´t know how things are abroad but here in Iceland i can buy all sorts of insurence for my animals.

Silly money! sure but great investment for people who have the money and a little bit of business sense, the buyer will have his money back and more in 2 years. Like it or not, this is just what our sport has come to

I agree with you Hjaltland, and if i may add, top health does not come from bottles(medication) I have not used any meds since 2005, now my birds don´t get sick and are always in good shape, health.

This company seems to be going down the drain fast, i just feel sorry for the people that work there, trying to do thier best.

Some strange thing going on in my stockloft aswell, i have the second round youngsters just born, in one nest they were about 3 days when an egg was laid in that same nest, now a few days later i checked the egg and there was nothing in it, i´ve never had something like this happen before.

I suppose you mean why did thier father only let them race natural? It was because he believed it to be against nature to race on the widowhood system. I don´t know when the last birds left thier loft but many fanciers have told me that in the late 80´s the good ones were all gone, but i know there were still pigeons there a few years ago, maybe there are still some around????

wow, do you have time to do something else then give your birds all this stuff?

I use garlic, honey, brewer´s yeast and lots of natural minerals.These are the only things i use, never have to medicate and i don´t get sick birds so must be doing something.

I just threw out a bag of Furaltadone and a box of chevi-col because they had expired, bought them to be able to be on top if something came up since we don´t have the pigeon vets or drugs here in Iceland, so my answer is of course that i have not used antibiotics for 4 years now and i won´t be throwing my money away again.

you might be right but you also have to remember that pigeons are not humans.
