  1. We just got a knock back from the council for the extension to the work shop as our neighbour objected and it looks like they will win as we live in a conservation area and it is classed as over development, the ironic thing is he was building the extension so Billy could work away making the products to keep him busy and make a few busy "The best laid plans of mice and men go awry" so they say, never mind there is always plan B
  2. Yes they seem to enjoy doing that, I wonder why???
  3. I have heard that as well but never tried it :-/
  4. We just use it because we have loads of it in the food hut, any light cotton or heavy thread will do
  5. Get an airgun pellet or a coin with a hole in it and use the cotton off the feed bags
  6. It would be nice to have one thread on the opinions of cock or hen. My husband does a few and he mostly gets it right but none are 100% except if it lays eggs it's a hen Toes the same length on a hen longer on the outside for a cock Pelvis spread on a hen tight on a cock Flat head on a hen, rounded on a cock Thread and coin round circles for a hen and to and fro for a cock but you must have a clear mind or the thread will swing in the direction you are bias towards :-/

  10. He made these and is thinking of combining the two as the first one is for every day use, the second one is a problem with birds perching and soiling on it. He hates flat pack but I will ask him
  11. Yes that is what I want to use them for, only when we go away for a few days like Blackpool or Blackpool :'( :'( :'( Do you have a pic of the ones that take 25kg please

  14. Does anyone use this type of feeder and if so how good are they, I was thinking of getting them made for feeding while we are at Blackpool ?
  15. Pete he tried to make them as near to the pic as possible Wayne is picking them up this week, hopefully before he alters them again ;D
  16. Racing pigeons and birds of prey Peregrines account for only a small fraction of the racing pigeons released every year Some pigeon fanciers are concerned that the increase in the numbers of birds of prey, particularly peregrines and sparrowhawks, is posing a significant threat to their hobby. Peregrines and sparrowhawks will kill racing pigeons and can cause injury or disruption to flocks. http://www.rspb.org.uk/ourwork/policy/species/birdsofprey/pigeons.asp
  17. It was a black headed gull, they weigh between 200-400grammes, easy prey for most BOP
  18. I will check, I know their vegetables are first class
  19. We just watched a DVD by Versele Laga called Showtime and a few fanciers featured on it said that feeding affects the eye colouring, does this have any bearing on eye sign in racers???
  20. Barley is £3.50 a bag this year, it is from a different farm and it is prepacked in potato bags, if anyone is interested we will bring some along
