There has already been a thread about members receiving threatening pms, and this thread gave us more information on what has happened, as some members haven't reported threatening pms to us, for whatever reason. As was explained on that thread, we are looking into this and making sure that we have all the details we need from the relevant members. Also as was explained to those involved we were away over the weekend and we would let them know whats going to happen during this week. That is great, well done for putting the letter together. Everyone on here and Pigeon Chat should be thanked for helping you and the others in their time of need. We wish you every success and it's great that you are making more people aware of these arson attacks.

Can I please remind members that sport topics, for example football, rugby, etc should be posted in Chit-chat. Also in light of some recent posts on football threads, we will not tolerate abusive and foul language on them. If your not a supporter of say Rangers, then there is no need to post up to the thread using foul language or in such a way that is abusive to other members. If this type of conduct continues on football threads, and I realise it may just be a few spoiling it for everyone else, but we may need to re-think non-pigeon related sport threads.

I'm sure Pigeonbasics members are only to happy to have helped in contributing to the Fund so that it can help those fanciers in need. We'll get an update of the Fund up during the week Please Terri keep us updated with how things are going

Well done Ian, you did really well and raised a lot of money for the Schools to be in the One Loft Race next year. I was checking the auction when we were in the car and there were lots of really good bids :)

What I am trying say is members need to let us know that they have received an abusive pm and forward it to us. If they don't show us the pm's then it makes it harder to deal with them

If people receive threatening pms they should forward them to a moderator or Richard, then they came be dealt with. If we are not told of the pms and shown them, what are we supposed to do?

We'll take this on board, and I'll talk to Richard and the other moderators about it

Moderators can be here all the time and topics may be missed by us, so maybe something worse has passed by us, thats why we have the report to moderator (or you can pm) to highlight it to us in case we have missed the topic or a post that had bad language or abusive etc. I think with a forum and most things in life, if you are in a position where you have some authority or in this case the option to lock or remove a topic, everyone expects you to keep them happy, which cannot be helped. To do with couriers and banning, its not fair on members involved to discuss this here. What would you suggest for the reporting policy?

So what do you suggest when there is a thread running, a heated dicussion, attacks on members and we receive 'x' amount of report threads about it and pms saying why are we letting it go on? And then you say we should have closed the thread earlier, well then if we did that we would get 'x' amount of complaints, why did you close that thread. At the end of day, you can't keep everyone happy, some people will support your decision and others wont, like yourself. So we can't please everyone

The thread started out about jm couriers service, then it was a discussion about prices, boxes etc, then it turned into a back and forth between Pigeontracker and various other members, essentially an argument. It was disrupting the thread, that is why it was locked. My expression of being fed up, is from complaints that are received about the thread and couriers and certain members. And these topics are difficult to moderate because each side thinks that they are in the right with the view that they have (fair enough) which starts the back and forth.

I am going to lock this thread now, because to be honest I'm getting fed up of having to read these courier bashing threads and they are difficult to moderate. Please can we keep to talking about the service couriers offer instead of slating them all the time.

I realise that the courier business is a well debated issue on here, but to echo what has already been said but you guys are lucky to have a choice of couriers and yes there may be some that do things differently to others, whether good or bad. But can we please refrain from knocking the couriers, if you have used them and something went wrong or you received bad service, then thats fine for you to let others know. But can we please not have long topics of couriers knocking each other. At the end of the day, everyone should be working together irrespective of whether they are the courier or customer :)

If you want to discuss football then go to a football forum. Football and other non pigeon sport related threads are not demoted, they can be found on chit-chat, which is not a lesser board.
