In response to several posters comments about a takeover etc, there is no such takeover going on. Members are right about stress, Richard and myself have had to endure a lot of undue stress over the past year, amongst other things which I wish not to delve into. And as a results has dis-heartened the both of us towards many things to do with the site and we have a great moderating team who have supported us and the site continually throughout. The appointment of Vallance Lofts as Admin is to help The Fifer, Richard and the moderators and with Vallance Lofts owning his own website and forum it means that he knows the ins and outs of how things work on here, and means that we can help each other out. Vallance has been a great asset to the global moderator team and becoming an admin will only help further and ease the running of the site. The appointment of Pigeonpete as a global moderator is again to help the moderating and admin team. He's been a member for long time (just checked since 2005!). And during that time has contributed to the forum and showed a level head which is helpful when needing to step in on out-of-hand threads. Also, I've read through recent posts and seen replies about us needing more help and we have taken that on board with these new appointments. And in doing so means that if need be we can have a break, as can the other moderators. It's been a hectic year for us and isn't going to slow down for a bit

I would like to welcome Pigeonpete as a new Global Moderator
-
the list is up to date

Please note that the use of 'user warnings' has been changed. Global moderators will now be able to issue 'User Warnings' and any PM that is being issued as a warning will be headed 'First Warning' When a warning is given, a global moderator will inform the administrators of this warning so that if any further action is needed an administrator will issue any further warning or a ban if need be.

fifer's still there, just adding another pair of hands to help out

I would like to welcome Vallance Lofts as an Administrator

If everyone would give me chance I'll check my pm's and the necessary email address to see what is going on. All I ask for is a bit of patience and don't start moaning about how long you've been waiting. Yes we have both been very busy and I come onto the forum when I can. So threads started up about 'why haven't I got a response' or anything related will only slow me down in having to respond to everyone. If there is something specific that you need then please PM me and I will get round to answering and dealing with pms. I don't think people realise the stress that we have both been under recently in regards to the forum and I would appreciate some consideration towards this.

I'm only human and have spent the past couple of hours going through pm's, so if anyone has sent me one sorry for the delay. I'm trying to get through things as quick as I can

Maybe you should read the above replies that you made on the thread, and clearly it seems that all you want to do is cause trouble. Also looking through the posts that you have made on the forum they have been nothing but causing trouble. One example is the replies you made on last weekend's liberation thread.

Chris has a good point here. I also think that everyone should take advantage of some hawk men joining the forum, by opening up dialogue with them to see if you can both understand each other and work together maybe. If all you do is keep attacking and threatening each other whether it be on here, another pigeon forum or a hawk forum then your not doing yourself any favours, and in the end giving both sides more ammo against each other and also portraying pigeon fanciers in a bad light. And from what I've read maybe both pigeon fanciers and hawk keepers should be aiming their energy towards the RSPB instead of each other?

I think maybe everyone needs to chill a bit. If post get moved or not onto the right board, just relax, its not the end of the world. There are far more important things going on in life than where posts may or may not be. At the end of the day, moderators will go through the Notice Board and move posts onto the correct board (been doing this for past hour or so).
-
I realise your being constructive, but sometimes it seems that whatever we do we're in the wrong, and also whilst your being constructive, there are plenty of others being destructive
-
headings can be misleading and as has already been explained some threads will get missed, we are only human and there are pages upon pages of threads on the notice board and as pigeonpete explained, if you haven't been online for a couple of days then you need to catch up
-
honestly, your not far off there
-
Maybe a good thing to do is to look through the boards before you post, an obvious one would be, I have a lost bird, so post it on the lost board. And remember that the portal shows all the boards not just the notice board, so threads on other boards will always be there.
-
Firstly, we are not able to be online all day meaning that we may miss some posts, say something that should be on chit-chat. Also moderators are members too so may want to get involved in threads or have pms to answer, taking their attention away from topics being posted. Generally if I personally see a topic on the notice board that should be somewhere else, I will leave it on for a bit, normally when it's fallen off the portal and thenmove it to the correct board. The one exception that I have to this is jokes, football/rugby and other obvious chit chat threads. I will move these straight away as members should know that they are for the chit- chat board and not the notice board. Please also remember the time it takes to move threads as you need to read them and then decide which board it belongs on. One thing I feel I must say, is that we are damned if we do and damned if we don't.

I would like to reiterate Jimmy's post and add that moderator's do have lives, as does every other member on this forum and there will be limitations to when we can and can't be online, which is the same for everyone on this forum. So please have some consideration towards moderators and I don't think some people realise that whatever decision we take on a thread or post some people will be happy and thanking you for the action, whereas others want to jump down your throat because of that action. At the end of the day, if you haven't had a response to a reported thread or PM, try another moderator and even check to see when that moderator was last online too to give you an indication of if they have seen your PM or not.
-
Well thank you for being so rude, I'm sorry we're here to serve your every need, maybe if you were more polite about things you may have got a better response!
-
I don't think you have, go back and read your post, you say that you work and have a family to look after and a moderator must have 'bags of time' so obviously not having a job or family. I think you need to look at each moderator and realize that we all have lives and limitations ( as does any one ) to when we can or can't be online!
-
Right, so all moderators should have no job and sit indoors all day to be on the forum, basically have no life! You reported a thread, fine, but why didn't you PM a moderator if you saw that nothing had been done! Remember that moderators are members too and human being who might also have a job or family to look after, your not the only one with a life, job and family. And if a moderator isnt online or hasn't been online for a while even months, maybe just take the time to have some consideration before you decide to attack us!
-
The thread was removed, because it's not appropriate for the forum
-
Please keep this thread on topic - it is for posting liberation times
-
As I have already said, no-one is getting away scot free, and the behaviour of some members is being looked over from the recent disruptive posts
-
I have already said that the recent disruptive threads are being looked over, so no "trash talk" is being missed
