  1. must really be bad there ive 3o on open loft and have no bother (yet) but honestly if i do get any bother even with training id just throw the towell in after 30 years i wouldnt put up with that every day ,id just keep half a dozen fancy birds or something,my heart goes out to my fellow fanciers.

  4. I told yous all on this site get the plastic crows up on poles etc they really will make a big difference ,here is a perfect example of crows hating bops vice versa,try them.

    i wouldnt think so ,but you will have to get it or your seasons finished before its started,your birds will start sitting out and flying all night it happend to me so you know what to do go do it and try hiding trap with a board,its had a kill now and always will be a rogue cat.

  8. only late breds 5 2o mile tosses in all directions,coming okay but only have 4 late breds and only when sun shines still bit cold some days yet.

  12. one bag of frazers breed and wean 12 quid 25kg but it smells of vinegar and when i worked on a farm we sprayed the barley when harvested with propcorn to prevent mould ,i sincerely hope its not sprayed with it or its going straight back iam going to get a second opinion on it.

  14. was at the corn merchants today he had for sale over 50 different types of mixtures and that was not including straights,unbelievable.
  15. as little maize as possible for me my birds hate it ive tried all breeding mixes and same thing they leave the maize i actually bought breed and wean today as iam finished with maize and i really dont know why so much is put into mixes its way to fattening anyway it must be cheap or sumthing this is only my opinon ill stick to beans peas tares wheat barley and layers pellets i must mention i only hopper feed due to only channel birds kept,but if was sprinting gerry plus would be used.

  17. yes tony your probably right i read somewere before a about early moulters and late moulters that start the same time every year in fact i think it was in an old hand book and he said make sure you build your family on late moulters. Sorted into proper post. IB
  18. yes paddymac but they tell you dont let them sit more than ten days second nest or the moult will start well he was sitting 7 and it started and now thats him buggered for st malo he is one of len magees busshaerts from lisburn which i wanted to try  but maybe now ill hold him till next year well seewhat happens.

  20. i have a cock i wanted for a 450 mile channel race this year he has already reared a pair of youngsters then went down on eggs again for 7 days but on the 5th day of sitting he threw his first flight why would he of done this as i didnt want this to happen ,any ideas of why this happened ,he is a yearling and not a late bred.
