  1. Oh, nearly forgot...COME ON - lot 26??
  2. Best of luck fella, this competition is great viewing...although demonstrating the "ups and downs" & "thrills & spills" of pigeon racing. Your doing a great job mate, congratulations & thanks Here's hoping for a great result for you today & 100% returns
  3. Whilst basketing our yb last night (5.30pm), i always like to check each entry over to ensure no knocks or bangs, also check on wing flights etc........and i like to see bright clear eyes!! So back to yesterday - whilst catching them one by one, a cheq pd hen "180" for some reason caught my eye.......to be honest first impression was she has a "wet eye" so i picked her up, feathering etc perfect but her eye......"WOW".......in all the years i have had pigeons i have never seen a brighter, clear, predominant eye ever. To be honest you had to see it to believe it, it was like a highly glazed, polished (hence the wet look) marble. Upon closer inspection of this hen, her cleft was wide open and her mouth/throat/skin was pinky/clear. Whilst continuing basketing the others i would pick up a "normal" looking yb - which was still in perfect condition with the usual type bright/clear eye etc, but the cleft was closed. I actually noticed another 6/8 with the "polished/wet" looking eyes "04", "24", "13" etc and believe it or not all these "polished" birds all had the clefts (inside top of mouth) wide open.... Has anyone else ever witnessed this before ?? Again has stated, its hard to explain how they looked, other than to say the "brightest, crystal clearest marble i have ever seen :!!

  13. Bob, Sounds as though the Thunderstorm has created stress, hence you have developed YB Sickness... See if you can get hold of some Nyfruamicin or Nifradex (not sure on spellings)..Get them on it asap Where are you?? I always keep a sachet of nyfruamicin for this time of year, everybody training, creating a lot of stress on the YB, and with this bloody weather we have to be careful... Follow up with some probiotics (gemthepax is good) all needs to assist the digestive system. They will be ok, just dont push them for a bit, lots of rest then start them off slowly again.
  14. Hiya Bob, A lot of people dont race thier yb...and do extremely well as yearlings. I think the secret is to make sure that they do get educated in the year of thier birth.. the more training you can give them the better.. No worries
  15. We are at 8/10 mile... First race 21/07/07
  16. Probably put them on a good breeding mix asap Plenty glucose in the water.........but being honest if they are really weak now (pressuming) just moved from parents, you will find it difficult to do any good with them - they need to be given the best start in life possible :B Fingers crossed for ya mate
