i think we are at the point where the diplomatic approach seems to be falling on deaf ears, the authorities in my opinion are not willing to change legislation in any way to address the situation with racing pigeons and songbirds, the rspb have the majority of the general public brain washed into thinking the bop is the endangered species in the uk, that days are long gone, and with the finacial backing they have i think change is a million miles away?? i live in hope there is change as our sport / hobby is taking a severe beating at the moment and so to the song birds, just yesterday i watched a sparrow hawk & seagulls at seperate intervals attacking starlings from my back garden and this is an everyday occurance, must be bad when they are taking starlings with the toxins in their feathers!! john

probably the most challenging season i can remember between the poor weather conditions and the usual ever increasing raptor attacks and everything else that threw its tuppence worth in,we can only hope next year is more favourable for the birds but i have my doubts ?? john

bernie will get a detailed forecast to you between 6 & 7 am tomorrow, usually get out updated weathers for the day just the back of 6am all things being equal, checking the forcast at 17.30 today you should get the birds up n away with no probs PS: how many birds are away bernie ?? john

dave dave there is 9 clubs in the north of scotland federation, your nearest club would be forres n nairn and they do have members in inverness, there are some the members on this site as well who im sure will help you out regards john -

checking our forecast for the next 7 days, saturday looks like being good for your lib at thurso, a front starting to run through from the north west on sunday bringing more cloud and rain mainly in the northeast but showers running north to south on sunday john

ive been all over the norheast of scotland today and the east side is by far the poorer side with overcast & rain all morning, the further west you go the better it is, n im not training young birds, not racing them, will train them all through the winter john
