  3. Klaus, be nice for you to pass a driving test. I'm sure you have thought so too many times too. Therefore must be a reason you haven't. So I'll mind my own in this regards. But I echo your words regards Stan and his birds. They certainly looked good and first class to me. Bussearts at that too. Also Stan is a first class gent, so it is a goldern oppertunity for some one(s)thats for sure.

  11. Agree. But whatever, it won't cost me a farthing to send, and IT WILL cost the RSPB, plus nuisance value.

  23. Melton Mowbray market have birds for pennies that these killers would love to rip part and eat alive... Yet if the taste is flavour,to one they didn't like, then this would put a stop to them pestering their pigeons.
  24. Taken this off the Alberta Classic site. .... It was a reply in a Hawk Debate. Quote: I tried a couple of years ago to learn more about these birds and perhaps get some but my search didn't lead to any concrete results. Reply: Our members were getting hit very hard by the hawks and falcons, so a couple three years ago I set up a seminar with the local raptor place, half a dozen members showed up for it, after it was over we all walked away understanding the predators hunting, nesting and migrating patterns, with this knowledge our race secretary put the following years race schedule together, since then we have had great race season, very few raptor hits, we shut down our race season from the middle of June till the middle of August, with very little road training in those months. A few members, (one's that thought they didn't need to learn about the raptors from the experts) have heavy losses through our down time because they insist on training . I think maybe this fall I should set up another seminar, a refresher course. I greatly suggest if you have a place that raises all kinds of raptors, see if you can arrange for them to come to your club house or go there and learn about our enemies of the sky. Yes I know, the members here have had many say the same. Indeed it does make sense.... Some advocated a 2- 3 year lay of altogether Yet every year we start earlier. ....
