  14. The problem is the majority of fanciers are over 50 and in some clubs most are 60+. There will be big changes in the next 10-15 years with small clubs and feds folding due to lack of members and the remaining members having to join neighbouring clubs

    Liberations

Angus & Dundee at Lauder. 11.15 a.m. South East Wind
  18. Had a look in the archives and discovered the Tayside Federation Commonwealth Games Diploma was won by D & D Coull, Inverbervie for winning the last young bird race from Burtonwood
  19. I have a SNFC diploma my grandad (Dave Liddle) won 25th East Section 73rd Open from this race. He timed his good Mealy hen at 18.17 on the second day for a velocity of 569 and winning £521 (what would that be worth today!. She was well pooled because she was 4th Section 17th Open the previous year. It must have been a hard race as well the velocity was 762.

Why would liberating the north east of Scotland birds with Solway, Lanarkshire and Ayrshire give them a better chance of making it on the shift. Section G birds had next to no chance of homing on the day on Saturday and were shut out by rain on Sunday morning. There were only 16 birds timed north of the tay in section c on Saturday and most of them were timed in near darkness

  25. They were stuck between a rock and a hard place today I`m afraid. There are 72 birds away from my club. Hopefully a few will make it tonight at 288 miles. Good luck to all.
